Woolworths gift card thread

Question on the WebJet gift cards - is there anything I should be aware of? In particular, can I use these gift cards to book flights and hotels just as I would with say Expedia? I understand that booking with an OTA like WebJet means I don't get the "direct" customer service when booking directly with the airline but still this could represent potentially good value.

You should be aware that booking through Webjet adds on a serving fee and a booking price guarantee fee. E.g I just did a dummy booking MEL ADL return on Qantas at $165 each way. The total charge would be $364.04. That is a 10.3% markup.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

However, upon checking my account it seems like the 2000 bonus EDR points I should have earned haven't yet posted. So I guess that means I'll need to chase down Woolies again if it doesn't post by the 18th of December.
It’s not an instant transfer but they could well be there now before I finishing typing if not by tomorrow morning.
What value does WebJet add to justify such a markup? And I ask this as someone who could just as easily book flights through Expedia, Kayak or elsewhere (for no fee!)
Probably a question best directed to them regarding their price gouging.

Although, I was able to book a CX J fare Indonesia to Europe return for sub $4k earlier this year - after an AMEX Webjet $100 cashback and a comp $250 Webject voucher from Latitude. Worked out significantly cheaper than booking direct and paying in IDR!

Not a Woolies gift card gripe, but a Woolies gripe nonetheless. I went to Woolies on Thursday to pick up (amongst other things) a $150 Vodafone starter pack which had 2000 bonus everyday rewards attached to the offer. When I went to checkout I received a message congratulating me on my EverydayRewards converting over to QFF points. However, upon checking my account it seems like the 2000 bonus EDR points I should have earned haven't yet posted. So I guess that means I'll need to chase down Woolies again if it doesn't post by the 18th of December.

Don’t know where you are but the vodaphone offer in Sydney was the previous week ending on Tuesday

Incorrect. Per this week's Woolies flyer for NSW (Wed 6 Dec - Tues 12 Dec, 2023), page 47, the offer is clearly shown there:

From Wednesday 13 December:

10% off Luxury Escapes, Witchery, RedBalloon and Binge/Kayo/Flash Gift Cards ordered through the Woolies Gift Card website until 18 December (it looks like this also originally included Airbnb but may have sold out already).

Looks like it sold out by 1000am AEST, managed to purchase some AIRBNB gift cards before they sold out. The Woolworths purchase/redemption process seemed a lot better that the equivalent Coles Giftcards.com process experienced in the past

20x points on Redballoon and Adrenalin gift cards through the Rewards app only until 9 January. Appears as a boost for me, but would assume it's general?

Edit: Gifting Store has been updated. It's 1 gift card only of 20x points per person, minimum $100 value. Offer ends 8.59am AEDT on 9 January 2024.

Looks like the Uber and Uber Eats offer has ended and stock has sold out.

Really surprised that there hasn't been a on offer on Woolies/Wish Gift Cards though, there is normally one for every major holiday. Last Christmases offer was on the 20th (but was their lowest bonus reward value of all their promos last year) so maybe they've decided to skip it this year...

20x points on Redballoon and Adrenaline gift cards is now also available through the Woolies gift card website. Note that there are different T&C's to the Gifting store in the Rewards app, so they should technically be treated as different offers even though they end on the same day (9 Jan 2024). 1 transaction only, but you can buy up to 5 gift cards through the website.

Woolworths appears to have made some UX changes to the gift card portal which make managing gift cards more difficult.

After purchasing e-gift cards (WOW, WISH etc) you receive a link via email that looks like this:

1703980022541.png

Previously, clicking the link would display the card balance, transaction history and bar code which you could scan from your phone directly into the payment section of the EDR app.

Now when you click the email link on desktop you get no details of your gift card at all:

The link still brings up relevant details on iphone, but no matter how hard I try I can't make my phone bend so that the camera can take a photo of the screen.

So scanning new EGCs into the app appears to be dead and it's back to adding the gift cards to the EDR App the hard way. :(
