Woolworths gift card thread

Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't used these "Only 1" cards before; they don't have a PIN. Fine for doing online and 'phone transactions, but if used in person, you have to SIGN..... remember when we all had to do that, in the horse and cart days?

I doubt that it'll deter anyone on here though.

Hmm so they are like the $88 cards right. Or are these visa debit cards that can be used like a credit card? I don't want to have to go to a register and give the person multiple cards.... Self serve is the best

i've been to 3 woolies in my area and only spotted $50 ones, even checked behind the $50s and there were none. Has anyone in sydney found any? I'm assuming someone has been buying these for $100.95 (after e-gift) for the 3pts*$1

spoacebar
its $100.65 for 301 MR :-)

There was a very clear fact that it was theft. It is of no matter when you tell the judge that you did not believe you were breaking the law.

WOW had an Amaysim offer about 2 years ago whereby you could recharge the 44.95 plan for 17.95 if you bought a $2 Amaysim sim card. My local WOW had run out of $2 sim cards so I helpfully took a spare one I had at home in and bought 15 * 17.95 recharges with it and walked out with my one sim card despite having receipts for 15 of them. A sort of reverse theft?

Employees have an advantage in that they have employee discount cards and know when the cards are stocked up so I wouldn't be surprised if the employees or their family are the ones buying out all the $100 cards the minute they hit the shelves.

My local didn't have them on the weekend so unless they arrive during the offer this won't be an option for me. The last few gift card offers have been very well stocked and I honestly don't believe the staff are snapping them up. It's more of a case of lack of stock to begin with.

The last Visa 1 offer at coles was another good example. The $100 cards were never on offer, however there were heaps of $50's for the entire sale (both could be purchased for the points back deal at coles)

Both my local coles and woolworths seem to go through heaps of iTunes cards and not much else. I guess it all depends the location of the store and the size of the stock they keep on hand

My local store is a major store and from time to time I see the $100 eftpos and Only1 cards get restocked easily by 100+ cards. I therefore believe my store gets a regular supply. By the next day however they are usually all gone. It could just be a large number of AFFers and OzBargainers in my area but I have a suspicion it could also be staff. The staff discount on top of the discounted egiftcards are pretty hard to resist.

During the $88 card offer I visited 4 and all had heaps of the $100 visa1 cards, I was thinking to my self man they will have a sale on soon.!!

Hope they are there tomrow, worth getting them? Hmmmmmm Still got heaps from last time. LOL

So I went and ha d a look at these gift cards. What's this deal about on the pack where it says if you use it or even check balance in the first 24hrs it may void???

Absolutely ludicrous

OH and is the purchase process the same.

Scan the packaging not the card. Pay. And print off a Woolworths recipet followed by activation recipet?

I bought one yesterday to test a few things and I used it up within an hour of activating it.

$88 EFTPOS card warning:

Tried to use several different cards at different merchants today. Everytime got 'BANK UNAVAILABLE'. Later in the day the same cards were working again.

Lesson: Make sure i have a different form of payment option available to me at all times.

The store stocked up in front of me like the $88 cards must of put out 100+ cards this morning on opening. It's a BIG promo
Not attempting to use card due to the "Within 24hrs of activation use "maybe" invalid.
