Worse than feet on bulkheads

I'm thinking of studying journalism at university next year, but at the rate the industry is going I'm starting to wonder if I should even bother. It's become overrun with sanctimonious grandstanding and pointless celebrity fluff.

Now see that's your first lesson! Journalism does not pay the bills.......scandal does!

The trick is to get a balance between putting out to pay the bills, and having a sense of moral decency. That's a balance I want to maintain.

I like your thinking and your attitude. Keep a level head like that and you'll go places. Congratulations.

As a general rule I remove my shoes on long flights. But I don't put my feet anywhere BUT the floor. I have no issue with the bulkhead, except when they're blocking other passengers. Feet on seats (with no socks), tray tables etc is just wrong, though. You're not in your lounge, you're in a public place.

Shoes off only at cruise. Always got to be prepared to exit a burning wreck.

Feet on bulkhead is a good exercise platform. Feet must be clean though. Happy flighting

Thank you :) Next year is going to be fun. Year 12 is not.

Try sharing an building with Fairfax, some of the elevator talk is eye opening.

Bus rides are worse.

I could imagine that becoming a killer reality show!

In all seriousness, I'm really shocked at how bad things are at Fairfax right now. I'm also a little surprised that they keep firing actual journalists while DailyLife.com.au is still running. I stopped my digital subscription because I don't want any of my cash so much as touching Clementine Ford's payroll.

Wow, this has gone off-topic quickly ;)

On the odd occasion I use them, I find them to be a good lesson on society..

I use buses fairly regularly for my commuting and find that fellow commuters are quite orderly, even under trying circumstances such as traffic delays and crowded standing room only buses.

In fact its the irregular bus users who cause the most grief, not queuing up correctly for buses, not being prepared when boarding the bus, pressing the stop button without a clue where their stop is.

NZ flight, All Blacks heading to England. Who wants to be the one to tell Richie Mccaw to put some socks on.

Not only are the feet on display unattractive, but from the angle taken, the photo reinforces how poor many aircraft business class seats are compared to a proper enclosed railway sleeping berth.

Yes, I'm not comparing apples to apples but there's much better value on a City Night Line train in Europe for 12 hours in a completely private sleeping berth than for 12 hours between say SIN and LHR forking out (assuming that one is paying one's own fare) squillions extra for J class.

My, those feet might also pong.

Looks like there is someone else standing in the background in a skirt and leggings, also barefooted..

I assume a whole world cup rugby squad would fill the entire business cabin, if not, glad I hadn't paid out a squillion to fly the same flight in business.

Bumping an old thread, Melbourne VA lounge this afternoon. This guy was walking around bare foot, including the toilets and then there was this...

Classy. At least he had shoes with him and not thongs.
