So this is just a report of an overheard conversation yesterday going from Sydney International to Domestic on the Qantas bus. We got on the bus after arriving from Auckland and were the last ones on, my wife commenting on the smell seemingly coming from one of the passengers standing near us. It was quite repugnant, much more than just bad body odour.
Behind us a fellow (not the smelly one!) asked a Qantas cabin crew member (in uniform) if like himself and the smelly one if she was in transit to Brisbane, she said no.
He then he proceeded to tell her about his flight from Santiago. He was seated behind the smelly one on that flight, as well as having a serious odour problem, this person apparently couldn't wait to use a toilet on board and so he relieved himself against the cabin wall near an escape slide, weeing all over another person's shoes which fortunately had been removed and were on the floor.
Crew intervened but apparently did nothing but warn him, and again did nothing when this person took his trousers off and then stretched out and slept on the floor of the plane.
The fellow telling this story was appalled that no action was taken and was wondering why the smelly one wasn't meet by the police on arrival in Sydney, of course the Qantas person was quite apologetic but said there was nothing she could do.
Perhaps there is a slight chance that someone reading this was on that flight and can tell us more? It arrived into Sydney about 5pm on Monday the 20th Aug.
The smelly one and his companions were holding Brazilian passports, which have a rather striking cover with the southern cross on it.
