trying to keep the conversation confidential did not work. You can hear everything. Better so when wearing noise cancelling headphones. ( they don't cancel voice frequencies that well.)
OT, but I was in an airport bar yesterday with some loud annoying woman braying about everything and basically bugging me from the next table. Then I realised she was a technical rep from a company whose products we buy and I got much more interested. People really should take more care what they discuss in public spaces. You never know who might be listening.

I was in an aisle seat on a flight back from NZ a couple of years ago. 3 people boarded, sitting together and were clearly colleagues. Due to some branding on what they were carrying, I knew who they worked for and it was a major competitor.

One in aisle seat across from me and slightly ahead (in my line of sight) pulled out a presentation re their expansion plans on country x.

I tapped them on the shoulder and had to say - look I work for one of your competitors and I should not be seeing what I can see.

Cue frantic stashing of document and whispering and glances my way. A few mins later they lean over and say - oh it’s just a hypothetical case study...it wasn’t.

QP OOL.

Personally I am less offended if the shoes are off, but only if - like this person - there's clearly been a pedicure in the recent past.

Great welcome to the nations capital on Friday morning....
Ok, it was Sydney
