I also had 'HVC' on the board pass

OOL-SYD
QFF WP
plus bundle
no QF codeshare

Wow! I hope this is not a sign of more jetstarisation, and hopefully its just a value add on the existing JQ product.

I am flying MEL-OOL-MEL on JQ in the coming weeks (due to no QF flights direct from MEL!!) will be interesting to see what mine (WP) and my wifes (SG) boarding passes say, I am 'willing' to be an AFF guinea pig on JQ to test this ;)

No name badge is unacceptable. I had a good cough to a JQ CSM about half the crew walking around without name tags on an intl flight once (response was about as expected), however it shouldn't be tolerated at Qantas. Did he have his security card showing?

I was going to write a trip report but don't really have the heart for it at the moment and AFF won’t seem to let me upload photos, but I do want to make mention of how my partner (NB - PS enroute) and I (as a newly minted WP) were treated on our recent flights QF127 SYD - HKG & QF128 HKG - SYD in Y.
I wasn’t expecting any recognition but we received a personal welcome on both flights. When the CSM on QF127 found out it was my first flight as a WP and also my first time on an A380 he came back with First pajamas and amenity kits for both of us.
On our return trip we were personally looked after by Amelia in the upstairs Y cabin, and the flight was made even more memorable by CSM Scott with the gifts of Business pajamas and amenity kits, and then a tour through the plane after everyone had disembarked. I didn’t sleep a wink after being told that was coming, and the Cheshire Cat grin as I sat in the pilot’s seat didn’t leave my face for a long time.
This probably cost Qantas very little in the grand scheme of things but these actions spoke a lot about how proud the staff were of their product, and ensured that Qantas will keep my loyalty.

QFFP just means Programme, and appears for anyone that adds their QFF # regardless of status.
Just out of interest to try and explain how HVC came about (except for being a WP),
1.) Did you purchase a starter pack or full economy fare?
2.) Were you on a QF flight number or JQ flight number?
3.) Did you purchase a exit row or front row seat?

1. Starter packs for both the outbound and inbound flights - Sydney-Adelaide and back on the same day
2. JQ flight numbers booked through the Jetstar website
3. No, just a normal seat

I'm not a particularly high status WP, only just breaching 1200 SCs after 11 months (many of these via double status credit offers) so, if it's not done automatically for all WPs, then it's a surprise to see "HVC" next to the "QFFP" on my boarding pass. Maybe it doesn't stand for "high value customer" after all?

I flew OOL-MEL in Feb and was recognised. It was my first JQ flight since becoming WP so I was quite surprised since I had no expectation of being greeted based on what I've read in AFF. I bought a plus bundle if that matters, pre the $5 F&B coupon. I was given a free drink though on their insistence.

Wow. I'm very jealous! Congratulations; it sounds like a great first WP international trip. :)

mrpooky.

CSM Matt was standing behind my seat (first row of economy) when I boarded QF 52 last night and greeted me by name. He indicated that there were many empty rows on the flight, and was happy to move me if I wanted to stretch out - it'd give the young family next to me some room too, he warmly suggested. He came by shortly after with his iPad and offered a few selections, and I was re-seated before takeoff. "Flatbed" sweetness! I've just managed a full day of work after stepping off that flight because I slept like a baby, and I have Matt to thank for that.

well this is interesting, looking forward to a possible meet n greet on a JQ service I have booked next month.

Maybe HVC means "high volume complainer" after all the times we complain about jq on here :D

Maybe this should be in another thread, however:
Flew on QF1011 MEL-HBT this morning in "Y". Crew were GREAT.
Little things like hanging up my jacket, offering a juice before takeoff (one pax in "J", so an upgrade would have been nice ) and welcoming me to the flight. "Another flight for you Mr Dmac6345".
CSM Belinda did a few welcomes throughout the AC. When leaving the AC, she even far-welled me "See you again soon Mr Dmac6345". Not expected but nice.
Ok, so "J" was empty but, it's not hard to put in a little extra and smile, which I witnessed today. This behavior will give QF a
"Reason to Fly". ;)

Do you live/work there?
I'm moving there very soon and am finding it hard to make the most of my WPness whilst being "so far away" from everything... QFLink to BNE is the only QF service :(

I also live near an airport that is only serviced by J* or VA. No problem getting my fill of WPness - Int flying ensures all the goodies are delivered and received ;)

Lived here for years. The main reason I maintain status on both QF and VA is JQ.
