The "special event" sounds good, but unfortunately at this stage I can't firmly commit to either of the two dos (SYD or MEL) on the 21st of December, so looks like I will miss out :( :(

I understand you're attending the MEL event as my PA? ;)

To be honest I don't think I have the time (or money*) for either event :( :( :(

This also means that I don't need to "choose" one.

* No Christmas bonus for penegal thanks to GFC 2.0 and a greedy employer. You may find me manning the checkouts or begging on a street corner to supplement my income :oops:

hah :p

It's almost like flying Jetstar to use the QF F lounge.

But on a more serious note, times are tough... Inflation in the DRPV is high. Such staple goods as drinks in public bars are seeing hyperinflation. My income is seeing stagnation :( :(

Just a reminder to those attending the NAFF Xmas event - The tour of Nancy Bird Walton, including the coughpit, and crew areas, was not an AFF event. The AFF site owner has been quite explicit that this extraordinary and astonoshing event is nothing to do with AFF and has righty insisted it has been kept out of the events forum. Please ensure your posts of photographs in the hanger, cabin and coughpit reflect this. We do not want to upset or undermine the team here on AFF by inferring that this incredible event was in some way organised by them or indeed associated with them. (Details of the AFF Melbourne event can be found here )

Thanks go to munitalp for organising this unsurpassed and amazing access to QF's flagship aircraft, and let's not forget that he chose to forgo his place on the tour because it was oversubscribed.

The engineers pointed out the spot which caused the engine explosion.

No-one else did, so I had to mention the .. er ... altercation... & asked the question. He shone his torch at the offending part. Then later showed us where the repairs were done. Where the bits exploded out & flew through the wing, & out the other side... Yikes!
It was great to meet the flight Engineer who spent many months in SIN with Nancy getting her shirt together, & then deliver her back to QF. He was in the coughpit today, & did the taxi out of the hangar to the high thrust test zone.

Many thanks to all at QF today :)
