For the wine tour? It's ticketed so you'll need to be able to buy one before the event (and hope we still have some available).

Do'h! I knew the 30th had a familiar ring to it - that's the day of our pre XMAS sibling sit down - and my sisters have informed my presents will be reqd - so will try to get the do on Dec 20 if I can.

Bugger. Hope we see you in December then.

TomVexille and I have organised a Yarra Valley wine tasting and lunch for Sunday November 30. Details and how to book are as follows.

We will meet at 0845 outside Parliament Station, Spring Street for a 0900 (sharp) departure by bus to the Yarra Valley.
Our first stop will be St Hubert’s for a 10am wine tasting.

Once we’re done there, we will head across the road to Punt Road Wines for a 10.45/11am tasting.

At 11.45am we will depart and head to Innocent Bystander/Giant Steps for lunch and a premium wine tasting of the Giant Steps range. Due to booking limits, the group will be split in two. Group 1 will dine at 12pm, while group 2 will undertake the Giant Steps tasting in a private room. At 12.30pm group 2 will sit down for lunch. When group 1 have finished lunch they will undertake the Giant Steps tasting. Innocent Bystander wines are also available for tasting in the public area.
Lunch will be at your own expense so please bring cash. You are also free to pop in to the White Rabbit Brewery next door for tastings.
At the conclusion of our lunch we will be back on the bus at 3.30pm, returning to Melbourne at approximately 4.30pm and at Melbourne Airport by 5.30pm.

Cost for this event is $65 (plus trybooking fee) and includes:
Bus to Yarra Valley and return to Melbourne and Melbourne Airport
Tasting at St Huberts
Tasting at Punt Road Wines
Premium tasting at Innocent Bystander/Giant Steps
Tasting fees are refunded if a purchase is made.

haha, I was going to start a thread and suggest a different venue.

I have a love-hate relationship with Bluetrain at the moment.

Sounds like the Park Hyatt is the best place to stay

Can you please confirm that I paid? I think I did?

I won't be able to make dinner. That is election night, and I will be keeping an eye on the count - my job kinda depends on the outcome.

Really? Damn :(

What happened to the "job for life" in the public sector?
