You know you are a former frequent flyer when...

For me, as a recovering travel-holic, I check MATRIX ITA once every day - just see which complex route I can take the next time I'm able to fly international, imagine QF or VA doing a DSC and calculate how much credits will I earn per $ and how quickly I can retain QF WP

One of the self-funded routes below :

Please feel free to comment/recommend/suggest changes to the trip below - it will help me and I guess it would help those that miss flying to flex those memory muscles with some travel ideas :)

Trip : CBR-MAA and return

Leg 1 : CBR-MEL-BNE-SIN-CMB (all in Y)
Leg 2 : Break at CMB for a day and then do, CMB-BKK-SYD-CHC-SYD-BKK-CMB (all in J)
Leg 3 : Break at CMB for a day and then do, CMB-MAA-CMB (all in Y), spend a week or two at MAA, with family
Leg 4 : CMB-SIN-BNE-MEL-CBR (all in Y)

This would cost me, conservative estimate, $4700, getting at least 600SC (not keen on calculating the exact number, 600 SC is all I need with DSC, to retain WP)

...you get excited when a jet flies overhead.
And be so happy when you see its an SQ A350 or a wide body.
Even better if its one of those grey planes that looks like an A330 (the coloured ones by RAAF), which wink wink, no one wants to admit.
People ask me why do I waste time looking at planes, wry grin from me at that question!

And given you are on the approach/departure path of a regional airport you smile at all the FIFO workers on their way.....
Perhaps not really wandering?
Fred
Yes I see plenty of "FIFO jets" in my area of Perth especially on bike rides near the Canning River. It is a bit of thrill when I see the occasional 'international' flight.

I see 3 or 4 wide bodies a day, being near one of the standard approaches to SYD. Immediately pull out my phone to check which airline/aircraft on Flight Radar.

I know I'm an infrequent flyer now as I have ,for the first time in 30 years, absolutely no flights booked and I also have no FF points in the kitty as I'm waiting for QF to refund them for all my cancelled bookings.

This thread is very applicable to me
How can anyone with a brain forget. Just one of my bills pays for continuation. Why do FF think they are so special. As for the covid reward got mine in 4 days.

Oh no! That would be a shocker for me!

I still got several bags of the stuff and luckily started to fill them up again recently.
I just started using them up at home. It's saved a small fortune but now I'm running out.

When you have run out of the little bottles of shampoo and conditioner you got from hotels.
I used them all up at home, saved a small fortune. Have now run out though. Have to buy stuff!
