You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

Fortunately it has not happened to me, but a colleague who was regularly flying SYD-MEL accidentally booked his flights as MEL-SYD, checked in on his phone and turned up at the gate trying to scan the QR code only to be told by the gate staff he was in the wrong city.

Fortunately they were very kind and accommodated him without charge.

Exactly the same thing happened to me as well. Tried to check-in at SYD J lounge for a flight to MEL and found out I accidentally booked MEL-SYD. I recall it did cost me something to fix that mistake.

When you get sick of trying to remember where you're supposed to be sitting this week.....so just select 13F for the next 6 flights
Wish we could do that for hotel rooms as well. I was in the hotel bar last night, and after a few, I was trying to work out which room I was staying in. I was in 1421 a couple of weeks ago, and 1428 this time. Wonder what it might be next week.

A fellow I knew in the Hunter valley used to do a lot of business in HKG.He always had the same suite at the Peninsula. He kept a rack of suits there.

My parents knew an elderly lady who would always book the same cabin onboard Oriana (the original one) cabin S11 on Stadium Deck and often did back to back cruises. She almost always preferred to stay onboard the ship in port rather than go ashore.

Actually she went one better than that in that she would only take the cruise if the ship's Captain was Peter Love.

At 80 years of age she'd done 60 cruises but always said she wished it was the other way around!

When you are checking-in at the airport and find out you forgot to book the ticket...
With so many Domestic flights it happened to me more then once and every time It was both embarrassing and costly.

And I thought I was absent from time to time! At least I've always remembered to book....even if I occasionally forget where to!

I've got the feeling there should be more to that story!

What a nice story of a true traveller. My dear departed grandparents were great fans of the Oriana and also had many cruises aboard her.......I have no idea if they had the same cabin though....and sadly too late to ask them.

Agree with you there. If I have multiple flights I try to choose the same seat each flight. Far too confusing otherwise!
Which is what makes AA so annoying. Not all aircraft have row 1, and with the different ordering options for meals in First, you have to base your seat on operating a/c and direction (or pre-order your entree).

When you have so many vouchers from cancelled flights under "my bookings" due to last minute schedule changes that you need to make an excel spreadsheet to keep track when each one is going to expire.

Or when they don't give me any vouchers for disruptions knowing that I'll still be back with them in a few days time.

Speaking of which, how come I never get any vouchers for disruptions? Although admittedly, I've never missed a connection and would generally arrive to the destination earlier during times of disruptions. *touch wood*

We got disrupt vouchers in MIA due to a missed connection - a/c had to be de-iced before departure from BOS then returned to blox for a minor technical issue. Arrived at our gate in MIA to see the a/c still there but no gate agent & it pushed back shortly after.

Another couple in the same boat put on a song & dance while they were being rebooked but didn't get any vouchers. We were served next & they said we could standby for the next flight (we had HLO) or be confirmed on the one after which we happily took. We thanked the gate agent & he gave us our new boarding passes plus the meal vouchers. It costs nothing to be nice to people.

When this is home.
