And a variation.... you lose all interest in a planned trip when the available lounges will be underwhelming.

On the phone to VA yesterday, after waiting on hold for about 5 minutes as they put together my itinerary, was asked "Um, why are you going via BNE and PER to get to SIN? You realise there are direct flights from MEL right? And you're only going for 2 days?"

Status credits, I said.

She just laughed at me.

(honestly, I was sure I'd booked 09:40........I had Mondos to be at for lunch)
