You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

...you pay your service provider (eg dentist) in full with your credit card instead of handing over your health fund card and paying only the gap. You make the claim yourself and maximise the points earn

No more wasting time going to the hairdresser because now you get your haircuts regularly in the lounge with glass of champagne while waiting for the next flight.

Speaking of which I need a haircut, must be time to fly via the Middle East again :o

If you want an amazing haircut/beard trim try Ted Baker at Covent Garden in London if you have a spare hour and a bit and about £50.

And for those of us not "that privileged" ...... would you settle for making a hairdressers appointment for the next morning, in a city many thousands of miles from where you currently are????

Now that I have longer hair I do spend a bit more when I get it cut, but hair cuts in the Colombo area are about $3... Not enough to warrant scheduling a ME transit.

Happy wandering

Fred

Today I learned it is official - I cannot face not even one more onboard breakfast omelette. My body has revolted.

And I used to love them :(

Completely agree. I love omelettes at home or in hotels but somehow they don't taste as good in the air.

I gave up on airline breakfasts long time ago and usually ask for different items from the general menu. If such menu is not available I'll just have fruits and pray the coffee is decent.

Do they actually do a decent job? Not that my hair is difficult.
A decent haircut job may matter for a woman. For a man the difference between a bad haircut and a good haircut is around a week. I am quite happy paying ~$4 for haircut every time I am in Thailand. Most haircuts are OK but occassionally you get a bad haircut.

I think 2009 was the last time I paid for a rip-off haircut in Australia and that was as I did not go to Thailand for over 11 months.

Coffee is almost never decent in the air( I have found)

So true! But I've come to accept the fluid proclaimed to be coffee with a smile! Taste seems to be different at altitude and I'm pleased to advise that VA gave me a night snack the other night, which was really very good. It was very simple.....chicken strips with crispy bread/toast/taco sort of thing (sorry, I'm not the best to describe food), along with a salad thingy with a stronger than normal vinegarette. It was really good. It had enough zing to enable my taste buds to recognise it was actually food. Simple, but very much appreciated.
