This looks like a great way to earn extra points.

I noticed that you can get 675 points just for joining Ebay.

Just when you learned all about a rewards program something comes along that gives a surprise.

Just how long has this been around for???

BTW - Just joined e-bay, so will see how long it takes for points to come through

Well it seems if I had of waited a couple more hours I would have seen the email from Velocity.
...

We're happy campers here at Velocity at the moment. You see, after much hard work we've just launched our new online store, ShopAndEarn, where you can shop to your heart's content while earning up big on Velocity Points. (FYI, it's the first online earn store of its kind in Australia and New Zealand).

What's in store?
We have 100+ online Retailers with us already and a whole lot more in the works.

At AFF#2 last week, Enda mentioned to "watch this space over the next few weeks", being more specific than the "watch this space... some time in the future" that Phil mentioned at AFF#1. I'd say this could be what he was referring to

wallacej,

Your link in this post does not work. :)

Had a quick browse around the site, and I dare say that I will be earning some Velocity points from this in the future. Good to see this sort of thing being available in Australia now.

Will be interesting to see if the points come through. I used the link from the Velocity page, but don't recall having to enter my membership number anywhere - curious to know how they know where to credit my points??

These types of things generally work by using tracking cookies through your browser so once logged in at the Shop & Earn site they will link your Velocity number to the tracking cookie which records your activity at the partner site.

I guess the important thing here is to make sure you don't have your browser set to deny any cookies.

Hey guys, I have used this service to buy some products already, and bonus points have credited into my account just within two days, fantastic earning rate!!! $1 equal to 7 points:D

I've tried a couple of small things over the last week. Either:

1) It doesn't work
2) The statement they will appear as pending within 24 hours is wrong.

I'll wait and see how long they take. If they don't post I will be abandoning this.

I too tried a couple of small transactions when it first came out and they did not work. I tried again on thursday and the new transaction have come up as "pending". Perhaps the system was no working when it first came out:confused:

Just checked, and still no points for signing up on ebay... Not sure if I had to do a transaction first??? But there was nothing I saw in the terms that said I had to do that!

I have done two on two vendor other than ebay. Neither have got to pending, let only points arriving.

Looks like they now send out further information regarding purchases and what to expect:

Dear: <Loving Velocity Rewards Member's Name>

Thank you for using the Velocity ShopAndEarn Store.

Our Retailer xx_xx_ has informed us that you made a transaction with them dated XX-XX-XX and as a result, we have allocated Points to you in a pending status.

What does this mean?

It simply means that the Retailer has acknowledged the transaction, and as soon as these transactions are fully approved by the Retailer they will automatically get posted into your Velocity Membership Account.

The time for the approval of Points varies from Retailer to Retailer, with the average approval taking about 30 days. There are a few Retailers that take a little longer but these are the exception*. Rest assured when the points are approved they will be automatically credited into your Velocity Membership Account.

View more ShopAndEarn Retailers or check out your Velocity Membership Account.

Happy Shopping!

Velocity Rewards

* Some Retailers can take up to 60 days to approve pending transactions. Please review the ShopAndEarn Terms and Conditions

And in my ShopandEarn History:

1. 01. Date: XX XX 2008 Time: XX:XX Merchant: xx_X
Points: xx_ Status: Pending

I've tried it on various of the businesses with IE and FF set up as per the cookie instructions. Nothing, methinks it's a crock. Good idea, but a crock.
