Virgin Blue becomes Virgin Australia

I figured I may as well start the inevitable thread before everything happens tomorrow!

Apparently the first 'Virgin Australia' DJ flight lands at 9am and the press conference starts at 10am, hopefully we will see pictures of the plane and its new livery on Twitter not long after 9am.

Several websites say they will use the #newvirgin tag on Twitter?

Can't wait. Will be interesting to see how much of the following they actually announce tomorrow.

1. New brand
2. New Livery
3. New business class on the NB fleet
4. New IFE
5. Velocity revamp
6. New Lounge locations (excluding OOL)
7. Existing lounge revamp

I think 1 and 2 are a given. 7 seems pretty likely. Not sure about the rest - i saw a rumour that the 2 new lounge locations were going to be announced tomorrow - my money is on one of them being SYD International but dont even have a guess about the others.

Speculation please!

I bet SRB and JB are wishing that the US held off getting Bin Laden till Thursday because somehow I doubt that the rebranding will force that story off the front pages.

If they hold out any longer and don't announce the whole damn lot tomorrow, all I will do is laugh... again..... It needs to be launched tomorrow with FULL details... No more stuffing around... Of course with the Osama death not the best timing but this will still get some good media coverage.

When Virgin Blue proudly announced that they had a plane in for paint and showed photos of it under the brown paper.... All people did was argue about cheaper fares, back and forth.... Funny stuff.... Day after day for the Happy Hour sales people just whinge and ask for cheaper fares....

If the rumour is true then I like the new name Virgin Australia. I was never a fan of the name Virgin Blue.

No need for me to get too excited as I do not believe there is anything for me in tomorrow's announcement but hoping that whatever Virgin does announce makes Virgin more competitive against Qantas.

Well this might not be announced tomorrow but I'm told on good authority that DJ have been in close discussions with HIAPL about a lounge for HBA as part of that airports upcoming 2nd stage renos whenever they may take place.

For what it's worth I hope that all the promised stuff is announced tomorrow. I'm sick of waiting and the dragging it out. It's like knowing that christmas is tomorrow but knowing that you'll only get one present every few days. Put all the presents under the tree DJ please!!!
