Looks like VA is having a massive promo on the 1st May. Just got an Email.

Supposed to be "record breaking deal". I am guessing better than the standard 15% bonus they offer throughout the year. For a company not doing that well, I'm surprised they want a massive liability on their balance sheet at the EOFY.

I'd say it'll be coupled with a bigger discount of award flights .

Or they could do with the wad of cash the banks will be paying them....

I'm with the OP - guessing bigger (than 15%) transfer bonus coming up ...

Have 200K in my parents' Amex cards waiting to be TFd :)

They have had as high as 30% in the past, though for larger amounts-

  • 1 to 50,000 Velocity Points = 15% Bonus
  • 50,001 to 100,000 Velocity Points = 20% Bonus
  • 100,001 to 250,000 Velocity Points = 25% Bonus
  • 250,000+ Velocity Points = 30% Bonus

Must be a long time ago as I don't remember that. But if it was the same deal, 30% bonus here I come :)

Last year was able to transfer my FB over the annual transfer cap with a 15% bonus. Hoping will have the same offer again this year as I’m not keen to keep them in FB forever. That would be a nice bonus :)

Received the email. I was thinking announcement of a new partner.

My poor FB balance is so low...:(
Does anyone keep a high Flybuys balance? I've got over 50,000 points as I'm undecided if Velocity is best option or take the $ discount from weekly shopping.
