Just got an interesting email ...

Book between 14 and 24 October for flights between 24 October and 18 November and earn double SCs

Wonder if I'll get a chance to make use of this?

Gahhhhh. I don't know if it's a good or very sad thing that we both received the email and posted on AFF within seconds. Some would call it an addiction. :rolleyes:

I said to myself I'm going to sit down and book my SYD-LAX return in December in J. Since the Double SC promo ends in November, I may have to seriously consider moving that trip.

You should have got my one then - it says for travel until the 31st of December. I was briefly excited and thought I should try and work an extra trip in or two before I remembered there was no life time status credit benefit and since I am planning on taking the parachute down to Gold anyway I may as well ignore it.

Disconcerting, in the fine print it actually says:

"*Double Status Credits are able to be earned on all Virgin Australia group of airline flights booked between 14 and 24 October 2011 provided flight is taken between 15 October and 18 November 2011. Flight must be taken in order for Status Credits to be awarded. Status Credits will be awarded within 4 weeks of flight being taken. Offer is only available to those selected by Virgin Australia and is non-transferable. "

I guess they didn't adjust the fine print for the more generous offer.... or else made a mistake with the regular print on my offer. I was going to book one or two flights I had been thinking about for December, but I might take my time and think about it and see what others have show up on the forum.

I got it too.. might book on VA instead for november! Will wait and see..

Fallen out of love with VA already; and I haven't even taken a flight yet!

I got the offer.

The cruel thing is that I have already booked a bunch of VA flights in the qualifying period. But then again I am not a "real" platinum.:shock:

Happy to accept a comp to double SC for those flights!:)

Thought I'd found a bargain 1500 SCs for $2500 but unfortunately VAs way of counting SCs means its only worth 600 SCs :( Bugger.

I got the offer but differently.
I have the same book by date 30/10 - but my flight dates are 15/10 and 31/12.
I like mine more than yours!

EDIT: In the T&Cs down the bottom of the email the dates say till the 18th November. How hard is it to get this right?

With the 241 PER flights and now this offer for selected Plats, are we seeing the beginnings of a trend? If these added perks continue, I might have to re-evaluate my lacklustre desire to attain platinum!

QF has WPs, DJ have LBPs............(Lucky Ba*#ard Platinums)
