Weekend in Sydney 30th-31st July, 2011 (inc FLounge run)- COME PLAY!

Taking advantage of the cheap flights for a weekend in Sydney.
If you are in Brisbane, come with me! My flights are below. If you have lounge access even better!

On my list is the Apple Store and ummmm maybe a show, museum, art gallery - but certainly more than a little beer.

I'd like to come for sure, I'll have to check up on dates as we get closer. I'd rather take virgin at this stage, I commute to work most weekends on Qantas, and can get very cheap flights with Virgin. Or is nobody willing to be seen dead on Virgin?

Same flights as you Taezar, except on Saturday I'm taking the JQ35 express for a F Lounge run after we land in SYD. Happy to arrivals-guest for a cup of tea etc. before you go into SYD and I head to T1. Of course, you're also welcome to join JQ35...

JetSaver Light fare came in at $59 plus the usual credit card fee (such is life for a few more points), then booked a QF flight back up. Would've liked to come back earlier, but I don't quite trust JQ to make a close-to-minimum connection for me easy.

Extra flights:

• Sat 30 Jul 15:00 Sydney 16:30 Melbourne-Tullamarine JQ35 Economy (JetSaver Light)
• Sat 30 Jul 19:00 Melbourne-Tullamarine 20:25 Sydney QF462 Economy

After getting off the flight to SYD, should be good to head in for nightcaps or whatever tickles people's fancy as an activity after 9pm.

Now to work out where to stay in SYD for the night. And activities on the Sunday...


As another note, I don't know how many people from BNE are going but depending on how many WPs are going would it be an idea to link PNRs around the WPs so that we can select the best seating possible? Minor issue for those who don't care much about seats, but it is an idea. For example, I can see all exit row seats on each of my flights at the moment.... (just not the front rows; probably will open T-80 if not premium heavy)

I really need to start looking at some hotel accommodation.

Don't know why you all chose the 5:00pm flight, if and when I book anything it will probably be the 6:35pm or 7:05pm departures on the Sunday evening.

I would do my best to rope in another Platinum for my lounge access

I’m just checking dates I plan to be in NZ and/or if Sze Sze will be in Melbourne on that night too, as I then may not go back to SYD. All very confusing, but I have 2 days.

btw: I have a QF voucher from a cancelled flight, can I multi-city it, eg. BNE-SYD/MEL-BNE?

Anat0l and Samh004 I won't be doing the JQ express but would love to hang for a little bit, but not at the expense of someone doing the JQ express - I want to relax in SYD and drink nice tea. That being said - a lot can happen between now and the end of July. I won't be booking anything again till May less my Easter plans go splat.
My spotting into the lounge meant pre flights in BNE and SYD.
Bundybear Why I picked that flight is so I can catch the air train home. As I live a couple of hundred metres from Central it is criminal for me to drive.
