No worries at all with the hijacking.
Anat0l is confirmed. Others making the right noises but yet to confirm for the JLounge run - during which I will be sipping wine and eating cheese in a park.

Definitely. Have we got any confirmed?

Also time to apologise to Tae for hijacking her get-together thread into a FLounge run thread.

FuzzyAUS, Mal and nlagalle are interested, from what I can see, while anat0l has booked in.

What about the scones?

Ok, This little Plat Duck is in:

Sat 30 Jul 07:35 Brisbane 09:10 Sydney QF507 Economy
Sat 30 Jul 15:00 Sydney 16:30 Melbourne-Tullamarine JQ35 Economy (JetSaver)
Sat 30 Jul 19:00 Melbourne-Tullamarine 20:25 Sydney QF462 Economy
Sun 31 Jul 17:05 Sydney 18:35 Brisbane QF540 Economy

(Somehow managed to book it all as a multi-trip itin on the QF site ... although my JQ flight is a Jetsaver, not a Jetsaver Light. It's also cheaper to buy a Jetsaver on the QF site ($56) than it is to buy the Jetsaver Light on the JQ site ($59) ... work that one out!!!!)

No idea yet where I'll be staying, but a Rydges will probably be my choice (Have ~$1300 of Rydges vouchers to use by the end of 2011 ... don't ask!)

WOHOO!
Hey Mal, are the Rydges vouchers in your name? If not, we could do a dominions of basic currency exchange.

Not named. Have 2x $550 and one with $435. Bought them during a 10% bonus sale last year as I was planning to use them. Plans changed quite a bit so I didn't end up using them like I planned.

I won't work it out but bl**dy hell I'm getting hosed here!

Didn't even think QF would offer it on their website. I could've had everything on one ticket and paid one credit card surcharge. :(

Didn't think it would work for me either. Spent about 30 mins trying to coax the Expedia and Zuji websites to give me the flights I wanted (no booking fee), but after that failed I thought about the QF site. Seeing I was already having to do a multi for the ticket, I thought "Hmm. I've seen JQ on the site before, I wonder if they'll offer it ... and I wonder if I'll manage to get it all on one tix".

Total cost (incl Amex fee): $304.27. Strangely enough, that's not a fixed figure. On another attempt to price it up after I purchased it, It did come up about $3 cheaper. Strange.

When you select seats in that booking, what happens when you get to the JQ flight?

I will be back home in Sydney that weekend.

May see some of you in the lounge late Sunday night if anyone still around....

Are you trying to bring peace to the Middle East???

Trying and failing.

The Aircraft, Staff and service is alright, the passengers are what makes it a terrible airline.

That argument holds no weight without reading previous posts and taking a different viewpoint on JQ ;) (no offence intended)

They are awesome. You pay a Jestaver Light fare and they let you sit in Starclass!

Haha… I’d like to see you do that again and get away with it!

Platinum Confirmed

30 JUL QF 507
30 JUL JQ 35
30 JUL QF 634

Day trip for this duck!

I thought you might stay the night, wouldn’t your boss give you time off that weekend?

I shall keep that trump card up my sleeve for when I really need to use it! ;)

If you expect poor service, you’ll most likely get it.

The service, or lack of, is not the main concern.

The reason I refuse to fly JQ is the way QF has thrust JQ upon us and handing them certain routes and not leaving people with a lot of choice and then totally confusing the websites by including JQ flighs in QF flight searches. I do not want JQ to succeed in their present form.

Now if JQ was a totally separate entity, and in no way related to QF or QFF, with low airfares then I would consider flying them as I would consider flying Air Asia, Tiger etc. Probably would not use them very often but I would at least consider using them....
