I concur. KF must be (one of) the last major programs with harsh expiry policy; the only other one I can think of was EY that has gone from 2 years expiry from earning date to 2 years without any activity in the account.

I have had cases where AA booked me on alternative flights in ‘revenue’ seat; as in, my booking in U class had an issue the day before travel and AA booked me on I class ticket on another carrier.

I usually just call AA and re-arrange the flights, whether on the same carrier or on an alternative.
