If you're booked on a flexi fare with a connection, does an upgrade request allow both segments to be upgraded to J? Eg, BNE-SYD-PER. What will the the cost of the upgrade then? Equivalent to BNE-PER or, BNE-SYD + SYD-PER?

I believe premium refers to first class on a flight with a 3 class service, while business/first refers to the higher cabin class in a 2 class service (i.e. north american style domestic first class, much like domestic business elsewhere)

No stopovers allowed, by transit stops (<24 hrs) are fine. Yup domestic to international connections are the best way to get to the lounge early!
