Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

The first round always takes a few weeks. Once they start flowing it is usually only a couple of days after you take your flights for them to credit.

Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" - bonus points given thread.

This is for the Amex Platinum Charge. I posted this in the Platinum Benefits thread but it's also relevant for here as well: My annual fee posted a week ago so I just called up. Mentioned to the operator that I'd like to cancel because of the recent announcement regarding the removal of the...

Credit Card Offers Amex Platinum Card Benefits, Offers & Discussion

My annual fee posted a week ago so I just called up. Mentioned to the operator that I'd like to cancel because of the recent announcement regarding the removal of the Platinum Concierge and could they offer anything like bonus MR points if I kept the card. She confirmed with me by asking the...

New look QFF My Account page

They’ve been A/B testing this for a little while now: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/threads/new-qantas-account-page.112607/ I’m still on the old page (although can access the new design by accessing the new URL directly).

    Bonza Airline Discussion

Unless you're departing from MEL if memory serves me correctly they are using the kiosks and automated bag drop in T4.

International Flex Fare = Saver Conditions For Changes

I do think the way the Qantas and other airline/OTA websites sell combined fares is a bit iffy and unfair. I can absolutely see how a regular person (i.e. someone who doesn't frequent sites like AFF on the regular) would fall into this trap. For example, if you book a return trip on the Qantas...

    Melb Domestic or Sydney International?

Agree with this. The food and drinks will be better in the SYD Int J lounge but you need to get the international transfer bus from T3 -> T1 and then clear immigration and security. With a two hour connection I doubt you'd get much if any time at all in the lounge at Sydney.

Good News! Pyjamas on (almost) all Qantas international flights in J!

No PJ's were offered on QF291 SYD/SIN (Finnair for Qantas) on Thursday. Perhaps the Finnair crews didn't get the memo.

Qantas ruined our rewards booking 2 weeks before flying

It's disappointing how ineffective the Rewards Ticketing Escalations team/email was in this instance — the one thing set up to fix exactly these kinds these issues and you didn't even get a single response. Nice to know it definitely can not be relied upon if Qantas messes up and cancels your...

International Flex Fare = Saver Conditions For Changes

This wouldn't work if you wanted flexibility however - if you made a change from say Sale/Saver to Flex, then the more restrictive rules around cancellations and changes will follow you around as you make additional changes.

Credit Card Offers Amex Platinum Card Benefits, Offers & Discussion

Just came across this post on Facebook. Not good if true — yet another way Amex has found to strip value from the Platinum Charge. https://www.facebook.com/groups/802902690881529/permalink/1132172824621179/

    First Qantas A220 revealed

Yep they definitely do - the majority but not all flights I've taken on the 738 in row 4 have featured the airbag seatbelts. These vlogs are doing a great job of highlighting the A220 experience though. Looking forward to my first flight on one in a couple of months.

JQ payment at check in required

Did you ask the agent on the chat what the charge was for exactly? If it was ticketed by Qantas you should definitely not have to pay any extra. Even if you paid for any ancillaries such as seat selection or meals, online payment would have settled any balance for this.

"... we'll shortly announce a major investment to improve our Frequent Flyer program"

One thing that will be interesting is how this will work from a class code / RBD perspective... most if not all letters are already being used so I wonder how Rewards+ will show up. Will be interesting to see how this plays out for those that utilise tools like ExpertFlyer to search reward...

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

I've never had a domestic request knocked back for X where there has been N class available, even close to departure (even on the same day). U is a bit trickier and the bot definitely applies more scrutiny to these requests... even with D class availability I've had these requests knocked back...

Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

Noticed qantas.com is starting to slow up a little bit as I'm doing some searches... clearly quite a few people trying to pop some last minute bookings through. The bookings are being ticketed quickly however. The bookings I've done in the last hour or so have been ticketed within 10 mins.

Article: Qantas Slashes Domestic Business Class Fares

I noticed the $449 SYD - MEL J fares last night when doing some research. I'm so used to seeing $900+ I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me!

Nothing has changed here - Dom Flex Y has been like this forever. As you correctly call out, different conditions apply for International Flex Y.

Exit row on 787 (seat 44A)

Sat in 44A for MEL-SGN a couple of months ago. Door protrusion wasn't too bothersome for me. Plenty of space to stretch the legs out. The proximity to the toilets was annoying however, especially as people would the space in front as a waiting area when there are a few people waiting for the...
