Email received from VA - Share your thoughts, and lunch with our Velocity CEO

I agree 3 is reasonable. doesn't help me when I travel with 4 people. Being able to pool to have a platinum and a gold to allow access on that rare occasion is very, very helpful. Note my comment is a reply to the suggestion to remove family pooling because of all the people getting platinum...

    What cheeses me off

I'm going to guess all the cycling posts have been deleted. At risk of being bad THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MINIMUM SPEED LIMIT. That's why there are overtaking rules. Ticketek is a scam, fixed that for you One of my offspring purchased 2 tickets via the official ticketek resale system for a...

Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

Probably the other thing about all this is I'm now in the currency speculation stage. I'm getting my international board fees, which are set in USD, paid to me in USD. Gambling on the exchange rates. Thanks. that's a relief. At this stage I've schedule a payment so that gets around the...

Is Citi Plus still the best option for overseas cash?

Just set up a HSBC global account last week. not sure I'm entirely happy with the A$10 fee to receive money from overseas USD to USD. I suppose that's kind of fair for international transfers getting converted into AUD. BUT there is also a $10 fee to receive AUD from and AUD account to the HSBC...

All my family members are adults, so no not generous. You might be getting confused with the child policy, which is also generous on Qantas. You may also miss the point that VA lounge are almost all domestic. Qantas also allow guess who are flying on other airlines in domestic lounges.

Or give the platinum more guess access for family members so they don't have to use pooling to make sure there is enough combines status so that the 4 or 5th family member can use the lounge for holidays. Then again, imagine the potential for family Lord of Flies action. Maybe VA should set up...

Help with frustrating Velocity booking glitch

I think I've decided that the second screen might actually be asking about the return leg. I've never actually tested this theory, because everytime this happens I select the same departure date on the second screen... then der!!! isn't that supposed to be return date. Then I give up.

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

My experience in the US as qantas platinum in economy has been boarding group 1. Recent experience in Europe, boarding group 1, again platinum. But on a business award with the second leg in economy. So not sure if business on the first flight kicked in or status. Singapore airlines was...

Potential item theft in checked baggage on VA domestic

Well since the Op does not need to prove anything to a random on the internet, the fact you haven't seen evidence does not mean the evidence doesn't exist. The expediency of someone witnessing a document does NOT change the legal standing of the document. Their job is to attest to the person...

    What cheeses me off

Hmm, apparently first escalator was installed in the tube in 1911 in Earls Court Apparently their was a knapsack patent given in the US in 1878... Pretty sure I've seen pictures of ww1 soldiers with backpacks. I think the real reason is to just conform to the continent. Maybe with Brexit that...

Well except you're allowed to go on red for emergency vehicles. Completely acknowledge the safety aspect, so be careful. Having a dear friend die of a heart attack, I get angry at dumb F$%^s who do not clear the way as best possible.* *edit: I'm not stupid enough to think a quick ambulance...

    Fixing QF Lifetime Status

Regarding Penny Wong's status. Firstly, she is a senator not an employee, different travel rules. I'd assume it was all business travel, from the parliamentary allowances as per the rules. Or a substantial proportion (98%+) was business. I have no idea how many times a year they have to go to...

Potential item theft in checked baggage on VA domestic

The evidence you demand requires proving a few elements - It was owned, it was in the case and it was taken from the case or did not arrive. Purchase receipt proves they owned the item. Actually a statutory declaration is an Oath under whichever legislation applies and therefore has the same...
