    China Airlines business class?

Yeah, I flew SYD-TPE-NRT vv in J in 2022 and thought their catering was excellent, multiple courses of elegant, tasty food. Also the Kavalan whiskey was very very nice.

    China Airlines business class?

When you get into town in the morning, go straight to Yong Le Market for great sushi (from 9am).

    China Airlines business class?

If you are there for 36 hours, then definitely stay in town, many nice hotels near Taipei main station, easy transfer from the airport on the fast train. Lots to see: wet markets, night markets, the National Palace Museum (amazing), maritime museum, Taipei 101, Taipei Zoo and gondola, CKS...

Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

Even better sense for the status credits and sector count. Thinking of doing this once before it ends.

NH route now operated by Air Japan

But why? If they are NH planes, uniforms, catering, service etc, is the difference just so that they can pay the crew less?

Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

To be fair, policing the forward toilet is a tough gig for FAs on these planes without the divider and rope. It only takes a couple of seconds for a Y pax to nip up there while the FA is in the galley preparing food or drink. VA really needs to pull its finger out on the divider and rope in the...

What is 'priority' worth to you?

Well, I am almost always HLO, so not really. But the fact is that it is not reliable, so still of questionable value.

    Stuck in Singapore (JQ8 cancellation)

If you know what Jetstar is like, why do you keep flying them?

What is 'priority' worth to you?

Priority check-in - massive value on international flights. Priority boarding - very high value on narrow-body flights (locker space). Priority baggage - no value.

Slow Processing of Inbound PAX at SYD T1

Exactly. Now we have the paper card plus another paper slip from the machines, for which we have to queue up, then then queue up again to get through the gate, then queue up again to get through customs. I avoid like the plague any flight arriving at SYDi before 8:30am.

    QANTAS talking to the disaffected!

So predictable that the Qantas marketing dept would publicise this. Qantas is always holding out the promise of improvement (SYDi J lounge, AKL lounge, priority boarding etc etc etc) but fails to deliver. But it keeps the rusted-on customer rusted on.

Virgin Australia and Qatar Announce Strategic Partnership

OK thanks. Looks like I should keep my QR number in. Next question: what happens to my seat selection if I am downgraded from QR gold (free preferred seats) to silver (not free) in the period between when I book and seat select and when I fly? Thanks in advance.

Virgin Australia and Qatar Announce Strategic Partnership

This is a really old post but I was hoping @BNEFlyer or anyone else could confirm that, if I change my QR Gold number at booking to my VA number later, then my preferred seat selection will remain and will remain in place (stick) for the flights. Preferred seat selection is very expensive on QR...

SQ321 LHR-SIN Encountered Severe Turbulence [At least 1 Fatality and 30 Injured]

It's strict liability under the Montreal Convention up to about A$250,000 per person for any "accident" but over that a pax would have to prove negligence/fault on the part of the airline.
