Early check in - is there any advantage?

But are you? Let's say it's a 30 seat plane and they've sold 31 seats. 30 of those seats are held by NB's and they've all checked in online 24 hour prior to departure. The only one not checked in is a WP, who does so when they get to the airport. Is it likely the WP will be bumped, or will the...

De extended long weekend in Denaru

I assume you know the photo you posted is not your plane/a 737? As soon as a meal with any kind of butter is put in front of me, I place the packet under a warm items or dish on my tray. Alternative would be to ask for a tea/coffee/hot water and stick it under the cup. Just long enough to get...

Qantas announces intention to acquire the remaining 80% of Alliance (ASX:AQZ)

I thought the ACCC wasn't particularly impressed the first time when they acquired 20%? I can't see how this will fly (hah!), also considering VA uses some of their planes, don't they? All seems kinds of weird as well if they've signalled their intention to buy the A220 family of aircraft but...

    Apple Airtags

Presumably this is because the Chipolo does not have a U1 chip? https://www.pocket-lint.com/phones/news/apple/149336-how-apple-s-u1-chip-adds-amazing-new-capabilities-to-the-iphone

    Apple Airtags

Separate point, if you're looking for a way to fit one in a wallet, the Find My network allows third parties to make accessories and this one by Chipolo – Chipolo CARD Spot - Chipolo is supposedly pretty good.

    Apple Airtags

I remember when they came out Officeworks chucked a hissy fit and refused to sell them because they use button batteries that kids like to eat... and I believe they still wont stock them. That said, they do stock Tile (competitor) that have the same batteries, and in my experience with both...

    Apple Airtags

Can only add to this thread that I've been using them since they came out and find them very useful. Have one in my camera case (considering the value of the lenses in there), one on my electric bike in a hidden location, one each on my dogs incase they every escape, and a few other spots. It's...

    Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

I was just checking my math was correct, as I don't usually buy miles, so wanted to make sure I wasn't buggering up the numbers. With the price that QF charges, whether justified or not, the award tickets looked to be good value. Yes, I'm sure Qantas is terrible these days. Even I had a flight...

    General Medical issues thread

Been a while since I ventured to this thread and simply seeking some free advice on whether I should shop around. For several years I have had varying neutrophil levels and been monitored by a haematologist once a year. In 2016 the levels stayed low for long enough that I experienced the joy...

    Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

Nice to see the QF bashing reaches outside of the QF forum as well. Yawn 🥱 Virgin or Rex are useless if they don't fly where you want to go.

No Spirits (in J) Masquerading as COVID? [Back from Apr 2022]

So long as they know the difference between ginger ale and ginger beer :p Good. Same.

    Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan

So, looking to redeem solely for QF domestic J flights, if I bought during a 40% bonus period (140k points) I'd spend roughly AUD$4000 that I could use on 7 one-way flights at an average cost of $571 to me? Might be good for longer flights, but not for shorter flights. As a Points Club member...

No Spirits (in J) Masquerading as COVID? [Back from Apr 2022]

Will we though? I have been asking for ginger beer the last few times I've flown and been told they don't have it anymore, just the regulars like coke, lemonade, etc... compared to pre-pandemic when they used to stock bundaberg ginger beer on board. I'm not sure they do anymore.

Has Qantas lost your business due to its failure to provide customer service?

I've taken a BA flight in the past to LCY that left without half the bags, didn't see my bag for a week and then discovered the tags on it and saw it had gone further than I did. Still flew them in the future. Stuff happens.

Memorable experiences going through airport security?

A very old one from me, but back when I schooled in the UK I often travelled as a UM between HK and UK. At some point the school took me on an excursion to a museum (presumably) about war and I was able to purchase some spent bullets as a souvenir. Flew back to HK at the term break, no issue and...

    MEL-OOL 14 Daily 🧐

My emphasis. Am I the only one who thinks there should be rules in place to make sure airlines/companies who do this need to show they will continue with the level of services if it looks like they are being anti-competitive? E.g. lets say they are trying to drive out REX from these city...

VA Beyond Tier to replace the club

This is just the equivalent of Qantas Aquire Business Rewards. This isn't the new tier that unlocks access to better lounges.

    Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

It did not go towards my PC/PC+ total. It was disappointing to say the least, but I don't need the SC and this year am no longer striving for Platinum. I had to call QFF and used my Platinum details only to wait 26 minutes and then be hung up on. I'm happy to slip back to LTG for that service.

Changing Executive Club Avios to Qantas Frequent Flyer

I thought it was common knowledge, or is this a 'fight club' thing? I used some Avios last year for a BNE-SYD vv in J, and received 18SC for my troubles each way.
