    The totally off-topic thread

I am currently on Vodafone and in my house can make calls in the kitchen but not the dining room and heaven forbid I move anywhere whilst on a call. Did a test run with a Telstra prepaid sim - perfect clarity. I even tested the broadband 3G speeds and Vodafone was left for dead. Next iPhone...

Tale of 2 brekkies [or Qantas "Cafe" Breakfast Sucks!]

Re: Qantas Cafe Breakfast I have never been a big fan of breakfast on any carrier - certainly not something that would influence me. Disappointing to hear of the poor service by the crew - I have had nothing but great service on the A380 (in J and F) - make sure you email QF about the poor...

UA status match me to Premier Platinum which is *A Gold. Y should I stay with Qantas?

Re: UA status match me to Premier Platinum which is *A Gold. Y should I stay with Qan In simple terms there are fares in the US that cost the price of an economy ticket but you fly in First and get SCs for first.

Re: UA status match me to Premier Platinum which is *A Gold. Y should I stay with Qan What about lifetime status? Is that important to you? If you aren't going to be flying that much are you going to be able use the UA status?

Good luck with the feedback. I have been close with a couple of roles over the past few years and have had no useful feedback. It is a grinding process. Yep - very much so. More interviews don't make for more experience either - finding that I really need to focus on the interview rather...

What travellers really want at airports

A quiet place where I can make a few calls before heading off on a trip - if travelling by myself. With the family some areas for kids to play.

    E-Tax 2013

This great news - the only time I boot up windows on the Mac is for etax. I have to wait until my wife's payment summary is available. I will be doing it once I leave the current job and have free time. Last years was ready to do it in July but only got round to it in September...

What happens during an A380 overnight maint session

Interesting stuff. I really like the A380 - moreso than the 747. The 747 is iconic but the A380 form me is just awesome. I really think for me the four greatest passenger aircraft are the 747, the A380, Concorde and the DC10 - each iconic in their own way.

Travelling with colleagues but seated separately - wait or not after flight?

It all depends :) Travelling home - once I get on the aircraft you are dead to me. I will exit as quickly as I can. Travelling to same location - booked transport - I will wait at the gate. For example if travelling to MEL and I have a car booked I will wait at the gate as the car isn't...

Credit card sized gadgets - what do you have?

Hi all I am progressively fuelling my obsession with credit card sized gadgets and devices and was wondering what other people use/have and whether they are travel related. I am always on the lookout for small things that can be used when travelling. I have had an eye on the Swiss Army Card...
