    Brazil 2014

Just checking timings of when the games will be shown here: Local time - SYD time (based on Brasilia) 13:00 - 02:00 - 15:00 - 04:00 - not great 14:00 - 05:00 - getting better - final is on at this time (not that that will be relevant to the Aussies - or the English) 18:00 - 07:00 - not bad

    JQ35 travel planning

Thanks - my laptop bag is about the same size. Worst case will be slipping the laptop bag into the Air Boss - will all be under 10Kg - although I will have a suit in the bag as I might be flying down in casual clothes. Time to break out the scales...

    QFF points and oneworld airlines

They are unlikely to extend your year but they might give you a complimentary requalification. It depends on a number of factors such as your average SCs over the past few years.

How do you cope with emergencies at home when travelling?

One of the reliefs about having not had int'l travel this past year and losing our dog a little while ago was that I was never that far away if I had to fly back (and I did have to fly back to have her put down recently). At least now my wife wont have to deal with that by herself if my int'l...

How do you cope with emergencies at home when travelling?

I agree - if my wife has such a severe tummy bug that she is lying in and constantly puking - who is going to feed my four year old son, get him to day care, bathe him - much easier say with a 12 year old who can look after themselves and potentially look after their mother.

    JQ35 travel planning

My laptop bag would be a similar size to that. I am a bit unnerved by the whole JQ thing... Hoping at the last minute the flight gets cancelled and they have to accommodate me on QF and get bumped to J...

    JQ35 travel planning

Thanks all - LAGs are covered as I travel with my international baggie even domestically. I saw that on the JQ website but they don't specify the size of the small item. I know on QF they specify the additional item as a laptop bag being acceptable but I am not sure on JQ. If necessary I can...

    Tablets as cameras

I have seen people doing it at conferences to get pics of the presentation. For business trips I go HLO and don't need to take a camera so I just use the iPhone. If not going HLO and if planning to go diving we now have five usable cameras that we take: - Two iPhone 4S - great for quick snaps...

    JQ35 travel planning

Hi all I am finally going to be doing a JQ35 run in a couple of weeks. Back story is that my job relocated to Melbourne and I elected not to go so am being made redundant. I have been going to MEL weekly for most of the past year and my last trip in the current job is in a couple of weeks...

I think the chances are pretty small.

    CX Lounge HKG

The departure lounges in HKG for OW pax are: CX Operated The Wing F and J lounges - both newly refurbished. The Wing F has a sit down restaurant, cabanas and a general feel of wonderfulness. Turn left after immigration to enter the lounge. They overlook gates 1 - 4. I sometimes find the...

    Qantas Club Singapore Question

[-]You used to be able to access the lounges but the QF pages are not explicit - in fact they say you can access any QF owned Qantas Club - just show card and ticket/boarding pass. However elsewhere in the access page it refers to Ek and QF. However this FAQ is very explicit on the topic...

Circum Pacific 1W Lounge Hop - Summary

I am intrigued to see how The Wing tops the MEL F lounge - reports I have heard are that the Wing is much sharper and newer now but not necessarily that much improved. Have you been to the SYD F lounge for comparison? I am obviously biased being a Sydneysider but I certainly think SYD with...

Paying Bills by CC at work

So many things wrong with this. Firstly if your boss can pay by CC and the points accrue to him directly or to the business indirectly through him (assuming this is a small company) then he should be the one to decide where the points benefit lies - with you his loyal servant or with him where...

    Left iPad in Seat Pocket...

Any updates? The problem with the "find my iPhone" app is that the device needs to be connected to the internet to track it down. If it has been put in flight mode (as all electronic devices are on descent) and has a passcode (which all tablets should have - unless no internet connection and...

Qantas Platinum One to Qantas Platinum

I hope Red Roo is watching this ;) I have had an odd situation so like most would love to have the rules bent for me but what I would love more is if QF openly explored the concept of loyalty and what it meant. We have different definitions here on AFF - wildly different. I made a conscious...

Given it is for developers, wouldn't you install it on the phone you use for developing and not the phone you use every day?
