AirBerlin Ticket, FlyNiki Code, No QFF benefits?

For most benefits you have to call. You cannot do the seat reservation online and most agents have no clue. Seat reservation does not work during the booking process (they want to charge you for that). So do not reserve a seat there if you are Gold or above. Sometimes you get a seat...

Will we all need UK addresses?

The good old Austria/Australia joke. With my Austrian address I have always been asked if we have kangaroos and drive on the left side in the US.

LHR T5 Galleries access denied for additional child guest

The T5 F-Lounge is not worth making discussions. The difference to the C-Lounge is marginal. My wife uses my Partner Gold Card - so I still do not face any problems.

LHR T5 Galleries access denied for additional child guest

Yes, Lufthansa does, but it is not a good solution. As Sliver Member you get lounge access with no guest. You can buy extra guests and a family pass for still a prohibitive price. I do not like it, as it has been free in former times. As Gold you can take your own children under 18.

LHR T5 Galleries access denied for additional child guest

I always book my MIL on a different PNR and hope for an irrop. I nearly managed it on the last flight.

    Obtaining QC / FLounge invites?

Sorry. I do not believe that BA offers payed upgrades for points bookings. On my payed booking I always received those offers (when I was not traveling in the highest class of service).

    Obtaining QC / FLounge invites?

Just be careful, as the QF Lounge passes are only valid for real QF Lounges. So MEL, PER, LAX? could be done with a QF Lounge invitation. I once tried my pass in LHR and did not succeed (as it is a BA Lounge). VIE has a lounge that you can access by paying cash (23 Euro)...

Denied Flounge access [SYD, WP on JL-NO Invite]

Yes I know that you sometimes need an Invitation/Voucher for some lounge. I experience that with 3rd Party Lounges - where you usually get that voucher at the Check-In desk. However that story is just poor customer service. 1) Why does QF need any form of invitation in their own lounge (they...

Lounge Access changes pending that affect all?

Re: Galleries access... NOT quite 'reinstated'? What a shame! They just pulled the info from the website! I have 2 Problems with that: I thought Mrs. Tyrolean could have use of the QF Club when she drops from PG when flying with BA. Mainly it would grant us family access when traveling with our...

    Air berlin to join Oneworld

Re: Air berlin joins OW on March 20 Their onboard product in Eco is better than LH. They have the better seats and food. LH has better Lounges. AB has no Business Class on Euro Flights. I am really looking forward of them joining.

    Air berlin to join Oneworld

It is DUS. A leftover from the former LTU which AB bought some time ago.

[Conjecture]Qantas to move European base to Berlin (BER)?

No way. Moving to BER would be not a clever move. 1) Lots of revenue comes from Freight, FRA is just an important freight hub. 2) Berlin is nice, but very poor. No industry and lots of public administration. It is the grave of our taxpayers money. Basically no demand for premium traffic. You...

If i were to lose my Q Lounge card...

They were quite strict in the past, but they changed it (maybe got a new system?). So the status recognition works (for me a 100% success rate!). I had similar issues with LH - one of the Lounge Dragons told me that the status may be coded into the BP, but there may be technical issues...

If i were to lose my Q Lounge card...

As a Plat things improved: Priority boarding (for Emerald and Sapphire e.g. QF-Gold&Plat) on Euro Flights is the best improvement. As QF-Club member you are no ejected out of the galleries lounge. I must admit: I like LHR.

Ideas for mini status run during EU trip.

Odd things with BA: The cheap Club fares require you to stay over saturday night. Cheap oneways are only bookable in Economy (but upgradable for cash if the cheap Club fares are open!). Option 1: 1. Look if cheap club fares are availiable on that flight 2. Book the oneway in Economy 3...

If i were to lose my Q Lounge card...

To my experience it changed in the last few moths. I always ask at the entrance of the F-Galleries Lounge if they would need my card and since a few months they just say that it is coded into the BP and they do not need it! I was a bit surprised, but I had quite a few entries without my card...

If i were to lose my Q Lounge card...

Because they do and they are Qantas: Replacement Card costs 10 Bucks or 1000 Points! Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Terms & Conditions Fee waived if card is stolen: Lost or stolen Frequent Flyer cards Access on QF and BA is not a problem (been there, done that). OK BA is a problem for...

Ideas for mini status run during EU trip.

If you want to do some touring you may find some interesting fares on BA. A few thoughts: - Try to book them from outside the UK (AMS, FRA, BRU...) as you save the "UK Business Class is Luxury Socialism Tax). - There are quite good deals but most of them require a sunday night - no prob if you...

Add connecting Europe flight to same PNR as LHR-SYD award flight?

Pro separate Ticket You are very save with that connection time. There are quite a few fallback solutions with other carriers. Luggage can be checked though (because with in Oneworld Alliance). After booking you may be offered an upgrade to Club Europe (usually around 80 Euro). Then you get 40...
