$0 Annual Fee for Life on Citi Platinum/Signature CC Complimentary Insurance

Just called up as an existing Citi Visa Signature cardholder, and after some waiting I was told they had put my request in to move to the 'fee free for life' Signature account, and would confirm in writing in the next 7-10 days. I'm confident it will happen, but it's a slightly different experience to others (who appear to have been told on the spot?), so just sharing for that reason. My annual fees are not usually billed until February, so not worried for the moment.

Can someone confirm the code in welcome pack please for this NEW Free for life card!

I went back through my Citi Internet banking "email" (the email in the internet banking system). I had asked them for the code and they provided it to me. It looks unique so I suggest you do the same. I can't remember whether I received a letter or other communication telling me to ask them for the code.

I had tried - without success.

The Priority Pass is from my Select Visa.

The supervisor took a week but called me back stating it cannot be changed to the supplementary card holder's name.

I wonder if I can nominate my wife as the priority pass holder on my new Citibank Signature card since I am already a priority pass member with the Westpac Black card. Then we can both go use the airport lounge, rather just me.

Anyone else done this with success? Or any other suggestions?

Just get your wife as supplementary card holder of Signature card. Register both primary card and supplementary card holders to Priority Pass. It worked for both of us 2 days ago. Got email confirmation for both. Now just waiting to see they will send both PP cards to us :D

Just applied for the $0 p.a. for life Signature card over the phone (as I couldn't do it online due to the application form rejecting a 1300 number for an employer) as a current Citi Clear Platinum card holder. I intend to cancel the latter and roll its credit limit onto the new card (if/once I get it) :)

Did you get a 'conditionally approved' response? I gather, though, if you're already a customer, it'll be far more streamlined for you cos you've already got a credit record with them.

Rang citi on the way home and had a good result. Shame I forgot to ask about priority pass code!

That's lucky. I get nothing from them but call centre scripted responses.

I spoke to Alex, and just asked that I noticed there is a new offer for fee free for life and is there anyway I can be take advantage of it otherwise I will cancel and re-apply. Told me cause I'm such a great customer Read: I owe them money they would process it within 2-3 days.

I applied for the Signature card last Wed, received an email to send my pay slips and verification and before I managed to respond, I received a call from them to clarify some financial questions. The card arrived today without the need to verify pay, etc and I don't even bank with them. Such a refreshing change from the MacQuarie experience.

Oh, I see. It must be much easier to deal with them when you're an existing customer. This is my first interaction with them. Ever.

After hearing that I feel like my application is being trawled through with a fine tooth comb and then put under the microscope. I applied on Tuesday and nada. Not a whisper of what's happening or why it is taking this long.

No conditional approval. Application is currently being processed according to online status check. I had to push back hard on the requirement to verify ID and income and get it noted on the application that I want this waived as I am an existing customer. It was suggested that I follow up the application status near the end of the week.

Applied last week, got conditional approval. Forwarded my Payslips and ID documents. Checked online status yesterday and declined :(

Called Citibank and they said it was because I had a credit card with citi within last 9 months. I told them I had no citi credit cards. She said it was my Virgin CC which is citi affiliated.... annoying as it's a Virgin CC not Citi... I asked what if i cancel that, she said to fax a letter asking for reconsideration with the offer to close the Virgin CC... so I've done that but not holding out much hope....

I applied last Wednesday and was conditionally approved. I got a phone call later that day to ask what time i was going to send my documents in. I then sent the relevant documents in on Thursday. I hadnt heard anything yesterday so i called and they said they didnt understand my rental agreement so i explained it and it was sent back to the verification team. Not getting my hopes up on this one. Its taking far to long.

I just checked my status online and my signature has been approved (non-conditional) so I'm awaiting an email or letter saying the same. I also have had a Virgin card in the past 9 months (8 actually) so away be they're a bit lenient with that timeframe.
