ok thanks. I'm still undecided to transfer to QFF or keep it as citi rewards and perhaps transfer to SQ. I am just worried citi will enhance this card soon due to the free for life promotion..

Have you been approved for the card? My salary isnt quite enough but my rental income puts me well over. Hopefully its enough

I just checked my status online and my signature has been approved (non-conditional) so I'm awaiting an email or letter saying the same. I also have had a Virgin card in the past 9 months (8 actually) so away be they're a bit lenient with that timeframe.

I got my Virgin Card in July so only 5 months.

Anyone know if I can apply for this card even though I just go approved for the mac bank visa platinum 3 weeks ago??

you can obviously apply, and citi has no specific policy to bar you (if you'd just got a Citi card you'd get automatically denied), but signature appears to be relatively hard to get so they may decline you and/or only offer you platinum. denied or not, you'll have two applications in your Veda file in three weeks, so you'll want to wait a number of months before applying again with anyone.

No conditional approval. Application is currently being processed according to online status check. I had to push back hard on the requirement to verify ID and income and get it noted on the application that I want this waived as I am an existing customer. It was suggested that I follow up the application status near the end of the week.

I am now conditionally approved according to the email I just received and that I need to provide ID and income docs (which I refused previously). Will call on Friday to follow up.

Likewise for me. Although I wonder if you can opt-in to QFF later? I doubt it but thought I'd pose the question...

Yes, but you lose any points in the account at the time you make the change. Empty your account of points first (to Velocity if that's what you choose) then switch to QFF and pay the $49 fee.

i've applied for the citibank platinum credit card and another one through another financial institution this month. both approved, so i don't see why not.

ok thanks. I may give it a go next month then. Still in limbo whether to choose QFF or citi rewards

I just called Citibank today to put through my request to change my signature $149/year to fee free for life without any troubles. I just needed to mention about the promotion currently being offered. I told mum and dad about the offer. They called and got both of their cards: 1 Signature, 1 Platinum changed to fee free for life as well, no problem. So anyone who is currently happy with their Citibank cards and would like to take up this offer, you only need to ask.

Just called to get my $99 signature card changed to free fee for life. Got put on hold for about 6 mins while she 'checked' my account. She came back and said that she would put through a request for it but no guarantees.
Not good enough, complained for a bit and then she said her supervisor had just approved it.
Hate the inconsistency from citibank. The moral is you have to push the point with this mob.

I do like the flexibility of CitiRewards (Krisflyer and Velocity and the ability to warehouse points for Krisflyer - they expire after a period - 3 yrs?). So I prefer CitiRewards. But if you have QF points that need a boost (and are OK re the QF "fuel fines" and general classic award availability).... then the extra for QF may be worth it.

So glad I saw this thanks for posting! Current Citibank Platinum holder (about 10 months) but spent at least 50k on the card in that time. Just rang up and asked about the offer and was told no problems I can have my current Platinum card at $0 for life. Then asked about a Signature upgrade (put on hold for a bit) and then said they just need to approve within 5 days and they will call me back. Doesn't sound like are bothering with a credit check or not. Will keep you guys posted on any developments

Citi Signature - applied, and got approval same day, received card within a week. Did not require me to provide anything at all.

This actually made me thinking about cancelling my Amex Plat Charge card....

Application made for my wife as future insurance to my Select card.
So far Citi has asked two years of ATO returns, passport and rates notice and phoned both my wife and accountant to verify details. Have now been asked to provide the complete tax returns and not just the summary and notice of assessment pages originally sent.
Love how 'self employed' get targetted, regardless of how many employees are in the company. Similarly with last months experience when applying for a Westpac card in my name, didn't care that the mortgage is 100% offset or wanting details of business accounts paying out the dividends.

Approval for me was a ridiculously simple affair.
Applied online, got two lots of emails requesting ID and proof of income... of which I never responded to.
Next day I get an email stating I've been approved (turns out they called my boss).
Got the card a couple of days later.

Haven't held an account with Citi for a good 5 years or so.

Did you have a Citibank account previously?
