10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

Yeah, I would be using it to go SPG -> AA so I'm going to apply anyway.

To find someone to share 25,000 AA miles the cost is US$280
To purchase 25,000 AA miles the cost is US$616

To earn 60,600 MR points = 20,000 SPG points = 25,000 AA Miles the cost is $80

So I am willing to risk $80 and get 60 transactions between now and the end of the year, and I'll earn the 25,000 AA miles.

SPG->AA is definitely the best redemption at the moment, especially till the end of the month.

Is Singapore Krisflyer the best *A for the moment? The new 50% one-way awards make it a bit more appealing. Shame there is no way to get the miles into BMI.

Until 30th September '08, 34000 MR points transfers to 20,080 SPG (1000:600) ...

I'm joining AMEX tonite! The inability to transfer to QF does not bother me as my plan is to T/F to Krisflyer which is at 1:1. 100 transactions on AMEX;) by Dec 31 will get me 2 redemption tickets on SQ to Asia in Y. I hear that transfers to Virgin Atlantic are also quite good but I've not looked into this.

Does anyone know whether the free flight you get with AMEX Plat credit card can be transferred to someone else?

I paid a 1c Optus phone bill today with my Amex... Wasn't even trying to be funny - Optus actually sent me a 1c phone bill.

Wonder if that counts towards the promo?

Is there anyway to keep track of eligible transactions, or is it simply a matter of remembering your sign up date and then checking transactions on line ?

I called up after signing up for all three. The guy, after putting me on hold and speaking to Membership Rewards, said he recommended that I keep MYREWARD.

I called up twice, registered with my AMEX Qantas Card (which I got for free last month), They said each time it would also work and I would be with the 5k for 5 offer. You can only sign up for one offer.
Not shure, if that really works.

Well I have signed up for all three, and not called them - and I have just got my first 5000 bonus points from the 'myrewards' one.

So I would say it's not worth calling them. The bonus points rate is the same for all three offers, the only difference is the size of each transaction block. At the worst case you'll get the 5000 per 5, and in the very best case you'll get points for all three. Note that the 5000 per 5 offer points seem to come through almost immediately whereas the other two offers were points in 8-10 weeks.

Has anyone else got their 1st lot of 5,000 points yet?

Milesandmore - are you saying a Qantas Amex card is eligible?

I thought only cards with MR points could be signed up???

Should I call Amex and try to register mine over the phone.

That could be tough for them given that on screen it said I had been enrolled for a promotion.

Really should have screen printed that though...

I have a PDF of the screen that could be used potentially as a reference - I wasn't going to miss this!

You need to be in the Mileage Rewards Program. With the QF card you are not in MR.

You cannot believe HOW excited I am with this PROMO!

It really is 1 transaction is worth 1,000 points.

Imagine 1,000 transactions = 1 MILLION points.

WOW - HOT - AMAZING - WOW - HOT :p

Just signed up for the 5,000 for 5 transactions.

Hoping to get 1,500,000 bonus points over the next 103 days  Just need to do at least 15 transactions a day!

My thoughts of transactions

1. Petrol $8 or so
2. Bread
3. Milk
4. Morning coffee
5. Lunch
6. Afternoon coffee
7. A bill - Heaps to pay
8. Vegetables from one shop
9. Chicken/Meat from another shop
10. Bottle of wine
11. Bunnings - Can easily find somethign to buy each day, wish I had of know about this promotion 2 weeks ago, as I have purchased hundreds of items in a few big transactions

Very easy for 10,000 points a day there alone, plus other shopping and birthdays and Christmas.

All legit purchases as well

My work hours are very flexible anyways. ;)

Besides I'll need time off to use those 1.5 Million points to fly to various holiday desinations when I move them all to Qantas

I put through 200 transactions in August without even trying! There are some days when I have gone to a hardware store 3 times in one day as I kept needing more and more materials.

Can easily get petrol twice a day, as I have two cars!

So there will be no huge increase in my habbits really just another 3-5 transactions per day !

I really hope AMEX don't pull this promo as it does seem too good to be true!
