10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

I won't be changing my spending patterns too much or splitting payments to abuse this offer either but I will be topping up petrol and shopping more often than usual. Instead of buying a weeks supply of chocolate and lollies with the weekly shopping, I'll buy them daily. A bottle of wine per day at Dan Murphys instead of a monthly bulk purchase - that sort of thing.

Good luck getting the offer!!! Hope it works for you

Just rang up and I was registered for all three, so I was changed and now only registered for MYREWARD

:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

While keeping all three MAY have worked, i am more than happy to get 5,000 points for every transaction

The CSR made it very clear

No limit on number of transactions
No limit on number of bonus points you can earn
No min spend for each transaction :D

I dare say this is one of the behavioural changes they are after, splitting transactions is not!

That would all depend on Amex's deals with the merchants - fees may vary by the transaction value...

And note that this deal is now promoted on the main Amex login page.

Also need to keep in mind that while all of us here are runing around in circles about this offer, not everyone is like us

That being said people with AMEX/Diners are usually in it for the points more than your typical VISA/MC person!

I cannot see that they would be promoting a practice that they discourage - i.e. splitting transactions. They do advise mercahnts not to do this.

While at first I thought this must all be too good to be true, I think it is surely going to turn us all into *very* motivated agents for AMEX.

On the way to work I managed 4 transactions already today, have changed over an insurance monthly debit to AMEX, ordered a magazine subscription on AMEX, will be buying my lunch out today (and probably every day til the end of the year).

I have also walked from two stores already today: one that didn't take AMEX, and another (7-11) that did but had a minimum transaction value higher than what I was intending to buy.

This is surely the best promo ever.

Hey guys,
not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but I rang Amex as I wanted the Gold CC, and they confirmed that new members aren't eligible, however, given that I need somewhere to park my business and personal spending that gives me an ROI, I will sign up and then call and see if I can get enrolled anyway.

To repeat: you must have been an MR member when the promotion started, in order to qualify

SO far this explanation seems to me to be the most likely motivation behind this promotion - encourage us to be asking merchants to take AMEX.

Just called to request changing from the EARNPOINTS bonus to the MYREWARD bonus and was rejected. :(

Hmm - that sounds weird given the 5K points/5 transactions promotion is on the main log in page with no indication of who is eligible.

Where is it? I can't see it. I'll call back later and try again.

OK everyone.

I just rang up AMEX MR to query whether Qantas AMEX Premium Cardholders would be eligible, and the short answers is YES.

BUT she said there would be a maximum of 20,000 points that could be earnt for the entire period (interesting).

Guess I'll register this for my father - so he can get some freeby points.

DID any other QF Premium Card holders get this same response?

I have to admit that I wasn't hopeful when I rang and was surprised when he simply said he'd registered my card and then went on to explain the conditions.
I'm still not 100% convinced that I'll be getting this bonus but only time will tell.

Were you advised of any limits?

The lady signed up my father's account to MYREWARD and said 20K is the maximum.

No mention of any points cap during my conversation.

Yeah, I mentioned that a few pages back, however if it's showing up on the main MR page when you login, then it should still appear there when I get my new card and login in 10 working days.

If it's not applicable I will have a whinge and escalate it until I get my way, this offer is too good to miss out on.

I'm waiting to see what happens with my account today.. It still hasn't updated from yesterday as yet, so will have to wait and see what happens..

I refreshed the page multiple times - can't seem to get the tab on the page like you did.

Is there a cap on the point earning? I just registered my Qantas Ultimate AMEX - no mention of a limit but i'll call them up again.

I enrolled (to the MYREWARD 5000 points/5 transactions option) with my Qantas AMEX Premium this morning (no problem) and was told there would be no cap.
