that isn't too friendly :(
holo,

Those who are offended by the comments will/should probably understand the intent of the post. :p

It was not meant to be friendly to the AMEX experts who have offered nothing to any of us other than using the site for a bunch of personal winging and waffle :!:

If the AMEX thread is part of the overall picture then no issues and I'm the first to welcome new people. Anyone who is hear to offer help to or learn from the AFF community is very appreciated as there is a lot for us all to learn from each other. :D

Re: OT: New members contribute

FWIW, I received quite an abrupt PM from a long term member after my first day of posting here, some 47 months ago. I got over it and have come to appreciate this forum immensely.

I received the same welcome. Am still here.

Interesting that there is reference to no caps still. But it doesnt clarify which program one is enrolled in you hit multiple links.

For me this is very clear though - I am enrolled in the 5K/5T promo and expect my points accordingly.

Hmm. Amex are listening to the various complaints here (and other places) and attempting to address them via the T&C's.

However - will it be enough to save them from a legal/legislative slaughtering down the path?

Well I am over it like the rest of everyone I suppose

I have done what I can do

Written Compliant Lodged with ASIC and Telephone with ACCC

Why do that when the T&C's from the start very clearly said 8-10 weeks for posting of points.

That is what I really fail to understand

Yes we got points early
Yes AMEX stopped the immediate posting of points
Yes AMEX changed the T&C's for Post 20th September sign ups
Yes AMEX reps on the phone have talked alot of rubbish

That is all that we know at the moment, but I refer you back to T&C's from the start very clearly said 8-10 weeks for posting of points.

Re: OT: New members contribute

Well, while this Amex promotion may have drawn a quite a few new AFF members (and some seem quite OTT), I would hope that most having visited here would look around and see what a wealth of information is available here and assimilate/contribute well into the future. (perhaps not so much ½ truths)

Yep - I only signed up here about 3 weeks ago due to this AMEX promo. I had one long term member tell me that I post too much and I was't welcome here

Funny thing is most of that this person has posted in their 5000+++ posts seems to be rubbish, and nothing at all contributed to this thread.

I got over it, and my carefactor of their opinion is 0

Hi, All.

Please check, AMEX just released their latest FAQ .

American Express, Bonuspoints FAQ

Nothing changed just more detailed

YES IT HAS CHANGED!!!!!! IT HAS FINALLY CLARIFIED 100% FOR THOSE ENROLLED PRIOR TO 20TH SEPTEMBER!!

THIS IS ALL THAT MATTERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

THIS IS SENSATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I had to use red for this!!!

Selected Cardmembers who received an invitation in the mail are eligible to take part in the Promotion. Also eligible are those people who didn’t receive the invitation, but heard about it and enrolled prior to 20 September.

Registration is limited to one enrolment per eligible Cardmember.

For Cardmembers who enrolled in the Promotion prior to 20 September, the original bonus points offer remains unchanged and there is no limit to the amount of bonus points you can earn during the Promotion period as long as your transactions are for legitimate everyday spend*. This was communicated to these Cardmembers via our call centre teams or the enrolment website page.

For all people who enrolled on or after the 20 September, a maximum of 10,000 Membership Rewards Bonus Points will be awarded to eligible Cardmembers each month during the promotion period, up to a maximum of 40,000 bonus points for the entire Promotion.

Defintion of legitimate: We mean the types of legitimate purchases that you make everyday, like buying a coffee, picking up lunch or a movie ticket.

:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:
