10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

Though, I feel for those who enrolled on 20th Sept or after, with or without an invitation. ;o(

Yeah it's the big bad abusers who are to blame for this :(

Amex never got their initial promo right, and are blaming others for their stuff-up. It remains to be answered whether this will be legislatively or legally challenged successfully.

Indeed, now can they get over their POCing and start creditting points :)

Once Cardmembers have made the required number of eligible transactions they should allow up to 10 weeks for their bonus points to be credited to their account. Points may be credited sooner, however this cannot be guaranteed

So they admit it may be sooner, that would be nice

Interested to know the outcome of the POCed people as well!

Before some get too excited also note that this has been added:

How do I know if I will keep all the points I have earned to date?
For the majority of Cardmembers all bonus points that have been credited to your account, you are entitled to keep. A Cardmember only has a concern if they have acted inappropriately, enrolled in multiple offers, or have not used their Card in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Membership Rewards program.

We will be reviewing all activity covered by the offer to identify cases of suspected misuse. Cardmembers who are found to have acted inappropriately risk forfeiting any points earned through the promotion and also their ability to continue to participate in the Promotion

So don't go overboard...

To save me going back through many many pages, what date did the website go down and stop accepting people signing up.

YES IT HAS CHANGED!!!!!! IT HAS FINALLY CLARIFIED 100% FOR THOSE ENROLLED PRIOR TO 20TH SEPTEMBER!!
You've finally hopped on the train, albeit a few stops late. We do hope you enjoy your journey, and would like to take this opportunity to remind you; 'We told you so!'

... The uncapped sign is now illuminated, and the pre-20th crew are free to move about the cabin. It is an Amex requirement that you remain spending at all other times.

I would not get your hopes up too much about getting them quickly....as I would imagine that Amex will want to review the validity of any points earnt, or at least if significant numbers of points are involoved. And only Amex will know what significant will be.

Agreed - This has always been the case, but it has been made alot clearer, buying bread rolls seperately or paying a bill in multiple transactions would fit very nicely under abuse.

The other FAQ - Without saying bill payments, you can assume that is one of the areas that would be frowned upon. However, a coffee each day would be fine, Coles each day would be fine. But not paying a bill in multiple payments.

What will happen to Cardmembers who haven’t acted in the spirit of the offer?

"In these cases, American Express will notify Cardmembers. Cardmembers will also be advised that should you be able to substantiate the transactions, in the form of invoices showing the amounts owed to verify the levels of payments made we may reconsider whether in fact they are legitimate everyday transactions. "

Yep, now it's all confirmed I don't really mind if it takes up to 6 months to post, I am in no rush

 I was on board from a few days ago, but the first stop would have been better.

Of note, another MR account that another family member has, has lost around 20,000 points with no explanation. It was signed up pre 20th September.

I'll give that one til mid December and then look into it again

I have enough trouble keeping receipt long enough to check my statement, without having to keep them for Amex!

Tell me about it, again I would say this refers to paying say a $50 Optus bill in 50 $1 payments or more than one payment.

If you went to say two different supermarkets in the day you would be fine, as I have often done in the past. One on the way to work, and one on the way home.

This one sounds like combatting bill splitting.

ie the quoted example of the person who paid their $1200 phone bill $1 amounts. So unless they had 1200 bills..................

Also I guess as an example...buying $2000 Plasma and having 4 by $500 transactions go through on the one day.......

Can I enrol in the promotion more than once?
No, only one registration is permitted per eligible Cardmember.

American Express will be tracking instances of multiple enrolments and for those cases identified your Membership Rewards account will be amended to reflect one enrolment.

My guess is that is what the POC-ing was, or is, as I am sure that they are still working through all such cases and checking for abuse as they go.....as well as deducting the points gained by multiple enolements.

You're almost there Amex lurkers :) Now I trust you will ensure that the pre-20 crew who signed on to multiple promos aren't stripped of points. After all, there wasn't anything suggesting that this wasn't allowed.

I cannot help thinking that if AMEX decide that a transaction is abuse, that the transaction should be cancelled or disputed.

It is not right for AMEX to say that a transaction is 'good' enough to allow it to be billed/paid & collect interest and yet not be a legitimate everyday transactions.

Hopefully the new T&C's are the news that most members here wanted to hear.

Seems to confirm what I had hoped all along. Now to go out and use my Amex....

The real Unlimited deal BACK

Great Finally a decent and clear T&C for the Pre-20th. Make sure you take a screen print, save to file, print to PDF or whatever you can do to keep a copy.

This clears up pretty much everything, except for the abusers

This will come as big worry for those who had enrolled and earned points in more than one promotion. For sure Amex will SUBTRACT those points out. Even if they transferred the points out, AMEX will deduct them from FUTURE transactions.

Well, now we have the real Unlimited deal BACK

Can somebody kindly post the link to the new T&C? I suspect mine's a dud.

Thanks.
