10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

Very Unexpected solution, but a clever one. The most greedy group are those who multy register, and this would take care of that. I guess they will argue that all multy-registrations had to be cancelled. Then all those people had to be registered again, but that would be after 20th already.
So you think the people that registered for all promotions are greedy? You really have no idea do you?

FWIW I registered for all promotions as they were posted on this thread. I did not expect to be in all of the promotions. I would prefer to be on the 5K/5 promotion but Amex has decided that I should be on the 10K/5 promotion. I do have a confirmation letter if that means anything. I am only a moderate, almost exclusive, user of the card and if I am not capped I may end up with ~50,000 MR points at the end of the promotion. That is a modest amount compared to some of the amounts people posting on this thread expect to receive....

Received 5,000 bonus points yesterday - allocated to the 10th transaction that posted for November (I'm on the 10t/5k promo).

No points for October (some for September, but received before everything went nuts). Enrolled prior to September 20th.

Wouldn't you think they would allocate points for the oldest transactions first? I did accounts for around 25 years and I can imagine how confusing this will be if someone has to chase up missing points in the future

Oh well, at least there is now a trickle of points for some people, I'll just accept that as good news.

Iza, I don't know that us thinking amex will waive your fee would do anything to help. Are you going to call amex and say that frequentflyer.com.au thinks you should waive your fee? I don't think that'd work well.

Perhaps.

Or maybe they are going to go back and manually fix up the Sep/Oct points at some later point. For November, everyone gets their first 10k points automatically...

Same here. 5000 bonus allocated to teh 10th transaction for November.

Well.... If you get more than 10K bonus points in november then you will know you are not capped to 10K

So Far only the people who has been capped had received points each month.... 10K

The rest will start getting their points mid DEC ;)

This is a recurrent post of misinformation.

I have been clearly communicated to by Amex that I am uncapped as have many others. the published revised T&Cs clearly state that no cap applies. Please cease posting misinformation.

Apparently a power company is investigating if their computer caused $1 payments: somehow people were overpaying and will be getting lots of credits next month. Did you know they don't use deciminal points so a keyboard entry of $100 is actually only $1.00!!!. I bet they use Windows Vista too.

.

Except that in this case the T&C has the point counter reset to zero at the end of each month.

Therefore Amex can easily start awarding points earnt from Nov 1 without out any real problems as transactions numbers made in each month are discreet in calculating the total bonus for that month. Bonuses for Sep and Oct can be allocated later.

PS I am on 5k/5 (confirmed by letter and I have a postcard for this rate too) and have not received any bonus points for this month despite having well over twenty tx for November already. So once again there appears to be nothing consisteant about Amex's response.

I don't understand your post????

If people entered $100 and it went through as only $1.00 surely that would have them under-paid and not over-paid?

It's surprising they posted so quickly; most Qantas.com.au purchases I make using AX take around 10 business days to post.
Not anymore, well not from my experience anyway.

Back in June I booked SYD-BNE return flights for the next 3 months. I did the booking on the Qantas website one evening but forgot to do the BPAY until the next night. As it so happens the flights posted the day after the BPAY, end of the billing cycle, get slapped with overlimit charge, BPAY posts the next day but in new billing cycle. I called Amex and they reversed the overlimit charge.

I have booked flights from the Qantas website since and these flights normally appear on the Amex account 1-2 days after being booked.

Received 5,000 points on the 3/11 and got a little worried after they appeared after my 10th transaction for November... So I just called up to confirm that I am on the 5t/5k as per my card in the mail and sign up on the 17th Sept and the lady on the phone confirmed that I was...

I didn't call Membership Rewards, I just called Platinum Concierge (Charge Card), and pressed Option #5.... The lady I spoke to was Emmy and she seemed very nice. She answered the phone stating she was from Platinum Services... She had to put me on hold and ask someone from promotions and then came back to clarify. She seemed more than happy to help me with my enquiry... I got the standard, "points will appear 6-8 weeks after the transactions and that it resets after every calendar month till 31st Dec 2008

Just thought I would let you all know :)

Interesting...as posters seem to be reporting that for some that Nov points are posting now...with no 6-8 weeks after....

Though now is six weeks after Sep 24 when points stopped posting. So maybe it is just resuming with that delay for crediting?? If so then in my case as I was in 3 bonuses...and had points post for 3...I will be negative for a few weeks before I start receiving "positive" points again due to the lag.

so far, i have received 2 lots of 5000 points from the 3/11. i will report back if i receive further bonus points, which will indicate whether i am capped or not.

(got the postcard, targeted for myreward, registered all 3 promo, poc-ed, removed exact points from 10/5k, 20/10k, received letter, confirmed on the 5/5)

Have any of the people who received points and been POCed previously transferred any of their extra points out into other programs?

Yes

Received points in Sep under all three promo, transfered to xx_, had x,xx_ deducted, received letter, am on 10T/5K (disputed), received 5K for 10T.

Someone else asked the question, but nobody answered. Why do people keep putting xx_ instead of actual numbers? It makes for very strange reading

.... very simple - privacy reasons.

When posting anecdotal information on public fora it's almost always better to retain a level anonymity.

AMEX MR staff DO read this forum and others on a daily basis; see post #109 of this thread.

Posting the exact number of points "POCed" would make it simple for an AMEX staffer to precisely identify the member posting. Such identification is unlikely to provide any conceivable advantage to the member - some disadvantages are conceivable.
