Simingr, yes the Ombudsman sends people's letters to Exec Services who, in turn, asks the MR section for its response. So somehow the architects of these promos have input on the response given to the Ombudsman.
MR surely see they have a conflict of interest if Amex's terms or practices or amendments are found by regulators to be unfair, unconscionable, unenforceable, void, likely to mislead, etc.
(I have a feeling Amex is 'assisting enquiries' from invitees who feel aggrieved they were excluded from the uncapped 5/5 deal. One can imagine Amex faces a major payout id say ASIC made an adverse publicity order and asked for payouts).
