... " selected " ...
Since the promotion was advertised on the Oz Amex website, any who entered www.americanexpress.com.au may conceivably have been "selected".This is a screen print:
That was possibly the single most important post I have made here
As per the T&C I believe, it would be from the date you register.
The problem is not transferring the points,
the problem is transferring the points knowing
that you are suspended and having a note in you suspension letter saying :
"... Abuse relating to the earning of points in the program or
redemption of rewards, including transfer of points to participating
frequent traveller programs, may result in the forfeiture of points as
well as cancellation of the program account..."
They can retrieve points from your Velocity or QFF accounts.
I know that because some weeks ago I receive 5K points (by mistake)
to my QFF account from Earth CC and they took them back 7 days later
Everyone better be careful.
They suspend you with the condition that you may not use or redeem any
Abuse Related Points (in writing). They suddenly give you xx_,000 points (Bait).
If you transfer or redeem those points, you may open a way for Amex to cut you off definitely.
After that, they may retrieve all points from QFF or Velocity. They may even be able to claim
compensation if you redeem your points for other goods or services
I am really confused, and don't want to loose those points I received on
the 31st of DEC as Sep-Oct Lump sum.
I must be one of the few here that are on fairly innocuous terms with Amex.
I've already received a massive number of points with plenty more sure to follow; .
One thing she did say, which will probably be the 'end of argument'.... is that AMEX always reserve the right to alter the T&Cs at any time !!!
I guess it's much the same as Qantas claiming in the T&Cs of QFF.... that they can close down the program at will. However, at least Qantas would supply six months notice first.

GORDO
Well at least someone is going well
Out of interest is it possible to know range of what massive is?
ie
100K+
200K+
500K+
AMEX supervisor got back to me, late yesterday afternoon....
She informed me, that I was not a 'selected' card holder. She confirmed with AMEX Marketing, that only selected & invited card holders were able to log onto the registration site.
This is their official position, which seems to be inconsistent with what others here are saying ( and the evidence of the webpage snapshot ).

They cannot just alter T&C's of a promotion at any time, they do need to give notice! Also the promo was advertised on their website, so it was "open to everyone" as far as I am concerned
In Gordon's case they did as the T&C was altered in late Sep and his first attempt to register was not until Dec 28.
As I'm up all night, on a 'slow' night shift, I found something interesting.
I'm not sure if this has already been discovered, or it may have just gone up, after my little conversation with AMEX yesterday...

Click onto each question, for the response to appear below.
This has all the answers, as AMEX wishes them to be known.

Not all tx post the next morning.
ie my local 7/11 virtually always requires an extra day to show up...and I was often buying paper in the morning.
Also I have noted with a number of businesses that tx after about 4pm seems to take an extra day as well.
When they do post, they do post with the correct date and so they should count for your promo count.
