Case officer Rosalina at Fos tell me they'll look into losses flowing from Amex's breach, eg pre booked accom or the extra points needed to get a vacant premium eco seat if economy was full. (Hmm, I sure hope first class has some vacancies). Quite a few here doubt Amex is liable, but there's no harm in asking Fos to look into it.

Staitman will lend you his. He knows 'the cheque's in the mail';)
It sure is :!:

I hope

I didn't even get much of a bite that time.

It's all fun but I'm much more interested in selling my house, ensuring my house in Cairns is OK, doing some work on my new house and most importantly retiring from my present job in just over 8 weeks. A few AMEX points that I'll ultimately get does not really compare :!: :p

An MR person tells me to call and cite some 'expediency request' reference number if the bonii aren't allocated in 5 to 10 days.:evil::evil: Gee, I'm glad that's 10 days and not 10 weeks.

Was just told by an Amex call centre agent that an advisory has been sent internally saying payment of bonus points has been delayed... again... the agent stressed it was a "technical problem" and no date has been given. But the issue is being addressed "as a matter of urgency" which is great news. ;)

I then spoke to a supervisor, and I'm a little concerned that the "delayed" points pertained to November only. I was told September and October bonus points should have been paid to all members in full. (I've received none since 23/Sep, and I think others are in the same boat?)

I was also told I should put a complaint in writing to:

Pieric Beckert
Country Manager
American Express Australia Ltd
S10N.5
GPO Box 240
NSW 2001

Ahh yet more misinformation :)

Having been fairly busy today I have not been able to properly complain so I will see if any points post this afternoon and if not will send my complaint to the BFSO tomorrow,

with all "technical problem"s, remind them it would be JUST as easy to credit EVERYONE in full then work out how to subtract points from abusers, fraudsters, and terrorists etc.

10 weeks from the end of November looms large, so even if they are only going to pay up November now, they are running out of days to do it in!

Why do I get the feeling that anyone who talks to MR about this promo is really just getting damage control / placating material? It's almost like throwing red paint against a brick wall - it makes a mark but it basically inflicts no damage...

Yep, pretty much. If it wasn't for AFF I'd think 99.999% of people received everything on time.

If this promo runs true to form, we'll probably see that 10 days morph into 10 weeks as the next few days of damage control spin out

If a legal team ever does discovery on Amex on this it would make VERY interesting reading when they go through all the internal memos......

....which is exactly why I would believe that Amex will eventually cough up.

But that may be after a lot kicking and scratching by Amex...

Case officer Rosalina at Fos tell me they'll look into losses flowing from Amex's breach,

I must contact the BFSO and request compensation from Amex for all the stupidity I hear in this thread and elsewhere about this promo. Surely listening to the bleating, the stories about poor refugee children being denied a trip to LA while looking sorrowfully for Today Tonight and everything else deserves some compensation.

Paranoia?

What paranoia?

Personally I think a number of posters are in denial about Amex.
they are clearly stalling and delaying.....and are telling "porkies" about why the delays in paying up.

If Amex were playing straight then 99% of people would have been paid the points within 10 weeks as per T&C.

This has not be happening...and it is not due to any bull**** "technical reasons". That is just spin and bulldust.

It is all about minimising damage to Amex and them delaying things as much as possible.

The liability that Amex has built up, due to their own stupidity, is such that they seem to be indifferent to "burning" existing customers no matter how long they have been with Amex, or what their yearly spend is.

Maybe Amex are waiting more legal advice, maybe they are just in disarray and are pulling the ostriches head in the sand routine hoping that we will all go away, maybe they are just stalling to slow the rate that points are being paid out at........who knows.

But one thing is for sure the reason for the points being paid out so slow is not "technical issues", but rather that someone at Amex had decided to not pay them out when they are due.

"Technical issues"...rubbish!!!!

It is Amex "management issues" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your claim sounds like a loser.

You pre-booked accommodation without having airline tickets? What makes you think there will be award availability for the exact dates you booked the accommodation?

What has any of this got to do with Amex or this promotion?

Well judging by some of the pseudo vexatious claims/suggestions made by some - I think I might be able to attempt some compensation too.

Must book accommodation tonight for phantom award tickets that I should be getting. Must also pre-book a taxi to claim the loss. Also, will raise a stink with Velocity because I didn't get a promotion/entry into a competition due to Amex not giving me points. If all else fails, then I will sue them all in court.

Not to mention as well that economy awards are normally more available than premium cabins....rather than the other way around.

"If Amex were playing straight then 99% of people would have been paid the points within 10 weeks as per T&C."

So how do you know that is the %?? I assume you are using the people on this particular board to come up with that figure, or do you have information straight from Amex?

For all you know, most Amex customers may well have recieved their points. Your post is just another example of how many posts on this thread are full of guesswork and wild assumptions, which help nobody.

In fact, your post which I quote from is full of "maybe's, who knows, I think", etc, it contains no facts at all, except one, which is that some people have not recieved points.

You could in fact just post once a week, saying the same thing "I have not got my points yet and am not happy", which would be what your last 2 months worth of posts have said, merely couched in different terms and using different wording.
