If you mean Sept or Oct bonuses were stagnant/unawarded, MR's rep said on Friday she found unawarded bonuses that should've been awarded on 31 December. She's asked 'the back room' to check (= more uncertainty and delays). It might be worthwhile asking them where they put them.

If that's the case, then they've awarded me LESS than half of all the bonus points for Sept/October than I'm entitled to. I suspect this is going to be even more of a battle as they come up with some sort of excuse as to why I'm not entitled to all the points that I'm entitled to.

Was advised today (Sunday) by a representative of Membership Rewards that there was a "hiccup"... but missing points (to end of November, presumable) would now be credited by the 2nd of February... I'm not holding my breath...

Another day, another "hiccup" and another extension of time. If their excuse is true, they are incompetent. If it is not true, they are, at the very least, sparing with the truth. (I'm reluctant to use the alternate term - the bast**ds may try and sue ).

It's not the only hiccup MR are having at the moment... there are a lot of cardholders that should be earning 1.5 points per dollar, but the system is currently only crediting 1 point per dollar. Problem is being addressed.

Incompetence seems to be the general theme of this promotion

FWIW, I just called AMEX. Their latest line is all points will be posted into accounts today but won't be available for viewing until tomorrow!

My relative just called and was told there is a system fault and they have no timeframe for when it is back on-line.

words,words,words....

What's that phrase again:

Lies, damned lies and "advice from an Amex CSR"?

I am somewhat pleased about this now - a total failure by Amex to deliver on its commitments should lead to compensation :)

Staitman will lend you his. He knows 'the cheque's in the mail';)

Without having to read so many posts in this thread, may some one here please kindly provide me with the most appropriate mail and fax address for me to lodge an official complaint to American Express in regard to their complete lateness on awarding points? Thank you.

I am planning to lodge this then escalate to BFSO. Amex is not doing their side of the deal .....

According to www.bfso.org.au under the members section:

Phone: (02) 9271 4767
Fax: (02)9263 6084
Mail: Executive Office
GPO Box 1582
Sydney NSW 2001

Some of us have been given more personal contact details AFTER getting in touch with Amex call centres. There is also a 'regular' (non GPO Box) address that frankly I can't be bothered looking up as my documentation isn't saved on this machine.

I, like Simon, am kind of happy that this is such a farce. Firstly, I am in no hurry to redeem and secondly I reckon it makes my request for all three promos up until Bobbie Blinkhorne's oringinal letter seem that much more reasonable.

Think they'll gift us some bonus points to apologize for their delays??? (joking!)

Why all the worry and paranoia? As long as we get the bonus points eventually it is no big deal if we get the points next week or the week after....

I am planning to use the points for flights for my parents in Dec 09. Amex committed to getting all points to me by 31/1 - they have failed to do this and should be held accountable.

One poster couldn't get qff flights for December 09, and Simongr and others wants to book flights before the ff seats vanish. Some were to receive October's bonii but didn't. I don't want to pay 'anyseat anytime' rates if I can get the cheaper version. Some have boni that vanished into a 'backroom'. Some want to see if they get all the boni they're entitled to: thus far posts suggest they're part paid at the 10/5 rate instead of 5/5. . Some have prepaid accom and prepaid tours they want flights for. Some are in limbo as Amex fails to meet deadlines in letters. Some missed V's last 25% bonii promo. Most are very concerned with broken promises.

And we don't get 5000 bonii anymore for every 5 packs of valium.

I have a feeling that this thread will need to run for a lot longer than just a few weeks more......;)

Anyone going to bite here?

Oops, looks like you already have above!

Ah...

Clayton's points

The points you have when you are not having points.;)

I think Amex will pay out eventually to everyone....but are going to have to dragged to computers to push the SEND key and in particular to those who took advantage of the Promo to earn up healthy balances.

All this Amex "talk" about technical problems is to me just spin...covering up that they just do not want to award the points (or at least the larger balances).

I mean Amex run promos all the time...sure there might be some hiccups with posting of points, but I simply do not believe that they do not have the capability to post the points, or at least the majority of them.

No doubt there is also a lot of bluff going on with Amex seeing who will settle for less than they are entitled to.
