I'm very glad you got your points. I have been getting points also. But I want to make sure that EVERYONE gets all their points that are owed to them under the T&C of the promotion. That's why I'm here - I'll get points, and by the collaboration, hopefully all of us will.

But lets look at the facts:

Multi-enrolling: Nothing on websites, or postcards to say that one should not. The Amex process allowed it. Amex may make a very reasonable argument that the promos are all one promo, but there is nothing wrong about having applied for each promo, and in wanting the highest award rate applicable.

Small Transaction size: Amex clearily stated no mimimum spend...and no limit to the size of the bonus that could be earned

POCing: would appear to be a correction. Why should this be a stigma? Amex has the right to correct the amount of points that have been awarded if they believe a mistake has been made. Cardmembers also have a right to query such adjustment and have it overturned if incorrect.

All POCing is, is a point adjustment. It may or may not have also included screening for "suspicious" tx. In my case going by the dates involved it did not.




I would strongly suspect that the vast majority of cardmembers awaiting points is because of one/ or more of:
  • That they are in dispute with Amex as to which bonus promo rate that they are eligible for
  • That they were frequent users of the promo with high bonus balanced earnt and Amex is for it's own reasons delaying the full awarding of points.
  • That perhaps each account is being manually reviewed and so this is resulting in some Cradmembers receiving their points earlier than others simply because some have had the good fortune to be reviewed earlier.
  • Amex's demonstraded ineptitude in virtually every facet of this promo. s

Rang AMEX yesterday enquiring as to the whereabouts of my points from Oct thru Dec and was assured they would be credited by end of Feb. If they're not, i'll be declaring war as this is the third time these points have been "delayed" :mad:

I am of the belief that it's mostly this one that is the reason for the inconsistencies.

Now the big decision! What to do with them.

I dint want to use my points when I was suspended, because the letter said so and the CSR told me the rest of my points could be cancelled. But you have received all your points already. If I were you, and If you can move them now I would do so. Get a plasma or tickets or something else


Now we know who is leading the points count with rodger branch claiming a point payout of 1.9 million ( as he said in his wiki rodger9876 DOT wiki DOT zoho DOT com/promo DOT html)

and GOGO is right behind with 800,000

I think it would be nice to do a sumarry of points paid per FF member


Mine are just over 600,000 (dont have a JPG to show LOL)




Lets see how much AMEX has to pay for this error ( I mean Promo)
 
paulpaul27, it would be advisable to read over the past few pages as our little friend Rodger has probably earned no points at all.

The images of the balance totals are fake, i.e. edited. BOGUS!!!

So far 800k would be the highest stated, Had I have not been suspended for 4-5 weeks my total would have been close to 750k however we cut back card use until my enrollment in the program was confirmed and then I still managed to earn a tad less than 500k points

So 800k & 600k are the 2 totals I would think may be the benchmark at this point in time
 
Sorry guys, I apologise for my broad statement.

Maybe I was a bit harsh in what I said but seriously some people have been very greedy but I also do agree Amex stuffed up with their T&C's and left it open for people trying to get multi-enrolled and make as many small transactions as possible.

Good luck to all, this forum was a great help and if I didn't receive my points I would have used this forum as a source of help to try and get the points owed to me. Once again sorry.

I'm glad you have the guts to come back and apologise, harrykewell - that's to be commended.

I think the important thing about multi-enrolling was that it wasn't the case that people necessarily tried to enrol in all of them to get points from all three promotions - just that the 20T/10K promotion (EARNPOINTS) was posted first and then later 10T/5K (MYBONUS) and then after that, 5T/5K (MYREWARD) - and people signed up for them as they became aware of them - most people only wanted to apply the best one (MYREWARD) to their account - and some (myself included) called to have the other ones removed.

Then Amex started crediting points - in all three promotions simultaneously. That was a mistake with their backend, of course.

What I think is fascinating about this is that this was supposed to be an incredible promotion for Amex, and yet it has ended with the Amex name completely marred. Somehow it's fascinating that Amex is paying us bucketloads of points, and yet we all feel they're incompetent in doing so (from their method of mishandling of this promotion from the start). SPG does generous promotions that engender massive goodwill but which don't cost as much, and they do well. Amex pays out loads of points to us (most of us are talking about getting hundreds of thousands of points - every hundred thousands points probably cost American Express more than $1000 to provide) and yet I certainly don't feel that good towards Amex now - I see those "accepted in jewellery stores....or grocery stores" ads around Sydney and amuse myself, as I no longer go out of my way to put a transaction on Amex anymore - probably even LESS so than before the promotion started!

I'll be interested to see who has cracked the million. Or if there are any multi-million point recipients. It kind of dwarfs the QFF lottery promotion of 1 million QFF points!

It just shows how critical terms and conditions and contracts are. You provide people with a financial incentive, and hell, they will use it!

Would they cull the 105 day promo in just days , or not.
Would they succeeded with culling people, or would they apologise (as they did)
Would they play games, reinterprete, amend terms with backdated effect, or payout in full on time.
etc etc

In line with the original T&Cs points should be finally coming at the end of Feb at the earliest on a 8-10 weeks points delivery. The fact that CSRs promised differently during the promo supports my statement of

Lies, damned lies and Amex CSR assertions...

The end of feb is completely consistent with the T&Cs

I didn't earn 1 Million points, only 540k,:) but because I was able to sign up for the MYREWARD promo with my QF Premium Amex, I'll have 540,000 entries in the QFF Million point lottery:shock:.

Told amex internal email last tuesday instructs the mr team to apologise, assure you we're working, and blame technical issues for NOV AND DEC BONII:

MR reps are authorised to award bonuses up to 10k (and then it goes up the chain.

MR reps can count all your boni, and send a screen shot to backroom for approval.

So get those mr reps counting your boni.

REGARDING oCTOBER BONI, they believe they were all paid out for everyone.
 
PS: some in there used maths for 5/5 promo as follows

(Example)

101,000 purchases in a month divided by 5 = 20.2 batchs x 5000 = 101,000 bonuses. I wasn't very good at maths but is this the same as 1000 boni per purchase?

Your posts are very informative, vet!

Yet again, they are wrong - they were completely wrong in my case for points for Sept/Oct and again in November. I suspect there will be some counting errors - I will have to hold them to account. It would have been much simpler if they had had the original automatic awarding of points as was happening in early September.
 
Just received my letter unsuspending me:D

It says all points should be paid in the next 2-3 weeks.

Like I have already posted I have already received all my points owed but hopefully this is good news for everyone else that was suspended.

Don't forget the story they knew everyone's actual payout and ordered bonii from the US for procesessing everyone ALL the boni on on 31st January. Now it seems someone 'kept' lots of people's October bonuses they are counting every purchase line by line. Something doesn't add up.

I wouldn't say the Amex image or name is marred in any way. OK so they stuffed up a promotion and it will cost them dearly. It happens and hopefully everyone will get the bonus points they are owed and life is back to normal.

I have not stopped using my Amex card and no intention to stop using it. Not as many transactions as during the promotion but still using Amex where possible.

People can criticise Amex all they like but as far as I am concerned there is not another credit card in Australia that comes close to it or MR. And yes I think there will be more promotions to come in the future but they will be properly controlled and more than likely not as generous as the MYREWARDS promotion. I look forward to using Amex for many years to come and collecting MR points.

There is a prominent person in this thread that is owed ~1.25 million bonus points or thereabouts. He made it his passion to spend time making Amex transactions everyday. I hope he ends up getting all his bonus points.
