Hello regulars, lurkers and newbies. I thought I might pop in a post to imprint my name on this historic thread! It's been a little taxing to read some of the repetitive posts, but people's attitudes seem to have gotten less agressive since the weekend, when it seems that some were totally losing the plot!
Just on the point that the
website has not changed the wording of the offer (i.e. still 'no limit'); one should consider that, once published, those terms remain the same for the purpose that members who signed up to the offer, did so under those published conditions. I believe it would be unprofessional for AMEX to change the wording of those terms - if someone (non AFF) unwittingly returned to that website only to see the altered conditions, it would cause inconsistencies and conflict.
This is not to say that AMEX won't change the terms, but if they did, they would do so in writing, and probably create some sort of alternative webpage.
Also, on a completely separate note, I very much respect AMEX (Luisa)taking the effort to provide informal communication through this forum - it shows they have an active interest in their stakeholders. While I understand that there has been a lot of speculation, I call on AMEX to end this confusion and provide a definitive response as to the ongoing validity of the terms of this promotion. Even if just to say that members will be receiving some further correspondence regarding this promotion. If not, I will assume that the promotion stands AS IT WAS ORIGINALLY OFFERED, for those that have already signed up. Do others agree?
