lovetravellingoz,

Stop bringing logic into this thread :!:

and if alphabetical...rather than just one IT guy working by his lonesome fro A-Z the whole batch could be split up....

So one guy may have A, another B etc....

In which case some whose surname stats with sa will get down before Smith....

Or some may start at the end of the alphabet in which case Lindsay W will be in luck early :!:

I would have thought if you do any form of Internet Banking, you would have struck technical issues quite a bit.

Not sure if your being serious or not, but lets say you are

NEVER!!!!

Nope, I bank with the Commonwealth and in the 5 or so years I have been using internet banking only had 1 time when the system was done, and that was because I was trying to access it around 2am when the system updates most nights.

I have been using commsec for 2 years, daily and never had a problem

You cannot even start to defend AMEX taking points out of accounts without notice, unless these people have paid bills in $1 increments.

Maybe its because I am with Wetspac. In anycase I have been around enough systems to know that sometimes things get delayed etc.

Quite separate to Amex taking out points. I don't know what that's about.

Well I guess one obvious question is has anyone who did not receive a postcard , or who knows that they were not targetted, received a POC on their account?

That'd be me - I didn't receive a postcard anyway, though can't say whether or not I would have been on the targeted list.

I didn't get a postcard, didn't abuse the system and I have POC on my account. We don't know what POC is yet do we , people are talking as though we do ??

Some talk as though POC is a good thing, why ?
I have currently lost 40,000 points with "POC". I will call them after the next update, usually 9.10am ish.

No, we certainly can't say that we know, but we can surmise that as PoC is a regularly used phrase, that it is likely that this is the explanation.

As for the version numbers, or other tags used, again we are postulating...but it makes the thread tick along.

I'd think in the next week or so, everybody should have had an initial audit. Then we may find some stability.

thankyou Lindsay, that is also my understanding. Thought I'd missed something in the plethora of recent posts :)

I certainly hope POC doesn't end up standing for "Points over Cap" then, rather than "Proof of Concept". Looks like this saga will be continuing for a while yet!

First off holo, take 2 steps back and take a deep breath.

thanks file51, I was, and indeed still am, quite calm but lets say determined :)

I was only identitifying the steps I would take, you will note beginning with Amex then relevant consumer associations, to remedy the situation if I was not provided with satisfaction.

Amex will certainly be monitoring this thread and the actions recently taken are deplorable.

Ditto, and no probs... ;)

You got that right, what could have been a simple fix on the 24th or 27th (i.e. introduce new T&C) was ruined by a retrospective change (illegal) and all the cloak and dagger changes since with again no notification just worsens things for them if/when crunch time comes along and actions are stepped up a notch.

Ok...for the sake of the exercise then lets see if it can be ruled out.

Is there anyone who only signed up for one promo (and by that I exclude anyone that say signed up for 2 or more and hen cancelled them...as I cancelled by phone but it took Amex a while (as in i think yesterday to actually dlete the extra entires) and who also believes that there spend has been "resonable" (ie has not overdone bill splitting etc) who now has POC on their MR Statement ?

So you want to know if anyone has been POCked by AMEX who shouldn't have been.

No POC, no adjustment, no bonus points (since the initia lumps), no postcard, no abuse, no nothing!

At least my transactions have started to post for October as normal - also many thanks to my wife for adding to the transactions :D.

When prompted this morning about shopping with her Amex, she just smiled and said "That won't be a problem ;)". True to her word, a couple of hours later they were in the bag (to coin an oft used phrase)
