10,000 Bonus Points With New OnePath/ANZ Life Insurance

This is looking good! I have several policies. One taken up, then the others around 2 weeks later. The first one has posted (as per others) with 10k+regular points. The others, posted to QFF at the same time, just the usual points, no bonus. I'm expecting they'll come out next month.

Cheapest bonus points ever. Time to cancel and re-enroll (hey, that's a new policy!) ;)

Wait until the points post is the way to go I think… I mean, what’s an extra $11 to you for 10,000 points?

Thanks.

So is the posting time:
(i) 4 months after signing up to the policy; or
(ii) 4 months after you stay on the policy for 2 months?

Have a read of the T&c's. But given you don't actually qualify for the bonus UNTIL 2 months minumum, I would read that as being up to 6 months from sign-up. Given the accounts of a few other posts, it would appear the wait is not that long.

10,000 Bonus Points With New OnePath Life Insurance

Thanks.

The bonus posts with the third set of points from the third payment. Each payment takes a month to post to your QFF account, so it took roughly 3 months as my first payment happened very quickly after I signed up, with the first points a month later.

Engineers Australia now has a link to get 15k points per new policy. Might have to give that a crack and see how I go.

Do you actually have to be an engineer? From what i can find they require a member number which i assume is related to being an actual member of engineering australia?

Yes, the offer is for members only.

Man, be pretty tricky stuff to cancel and take out another set of 4 policies, but that would be just like us AFFers... :)

Well i have received no 10k bonuses yet (and only 79 QFF points from $118 of credit card payments) even though on one policy i have made 4 monthly payments now!!! 2 others 3 montly payments and on the 4th i should be making the 3rd payment any day now, so tomorrow i will cancel them all and after ringing them up i got told my points should appear when Qantas next post them through... so will see... I calculate i have paid about $118 for what hopefully should be about 40118 points... still pretty good value... if i get them eventually!!!!

On a QF flight last weekend in reading the magazine noticed the ad for Onepath and thought they had added a new condition about reserving the right to pay the bonus out only once if someone took out multiple policies of the same type. But stupidly did not steal the mag and can't find any condition like this on the website. Anyone out there who did steal a copy who can enlighten on this, certainly my immediate thought was that they had cottoned onto people signing up for multiple policies but would like to confirm exact wording (i.e. not sure if it is multiple poloicies if you have already cancelled one).

Well seeing we all signed up on the website and not from the magazine, its what it says on the T&C on the website that should govern the deal... And anyway i didn't take out multiples of the same type but four distinctly different policies...

Now if i have cancelled and am about to sign up for the same 4 policies again that wording might have some relevance...

Bonus points may take up to 4 months to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. Where a customer purchases more than one eligible policy of the same product name, bonus points will only be paid once.

Thanks, yes purchases seems to me to include cancelling and repurchase. Of course you could probably buy both ANZ and Onepath version of the same product which I believe have different product names.

Does it say that on the website sign up though??? I haven't gone back and looked at the T&Cs for a bit...

Well i believe the terms of where you sign up should govern it...

Else they could come out and say they had stated something on some memo put round the office and it governs the offer and over rides any other T&C's... Multiple T&Cs sounds a bit silly to me...

So I am going to steadfastly pretend i didn't read those above posts!!! :)

I printed out the T&C's of the offer at the time I registered/applied to a .pdf.

The relevant parts are:
If you apply for your policy by calling OnePath or ANZ, or by applying online you can also receive a bonus 10,000 points.*

...

* The bonus 10,000 points offer is not available for new policies within the OneCare range of products and is only available to customers who: (a) apply for a new eligible OnePath policy or eligible ANZ life insurance or income protection directly, either online via qantas.com/lifeinsurance or over the phone by calling 1300 379 693 for OnePath or 1300 376 978 for ANZ; (b) pay the premium for the eligible OnePath policy or ANZ life insurance or income protection for a minimum period of two months; and (c) supply their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details to OnePath within 30 days of taking up the eligible OnePath policy. Bonus Qantas Frequent Flyer points may take up to four months to be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account.

^ You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member and correctly register your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details with OnePath to start earning Qantas Frequent Flyer points on eligible premiums you pay

Not disagreeing that these were the T&C's and indeed still seem to be the T&C's on the website but samh004 has managed to find this change in conditions somewhere, not really sure where this document is as I don't have any 150 page plus document (his reference Page 153).

Would tend to agree with the theory they can't just hide this away in the fine print but they can of course reissue T&C's. This would of course only apply to new applicants but that's what we are talking about here.

Sorry getting confused there, seems strange they say this there but it's not in the T&C's or on the website. I agree with other posters that if it ever comes down to a legal dispute the website and T&C's would take preference but would suggest that if it is changed in their advertising they may well be in the process of changing T&C's for future applicants, i.e. if you are planning to doubledip get in now as unlikley they could/would make retrospective.

This promotion is looking more and more like a typical AMEX promo everyday, no wonder OnePath/Amex dont sponsor football, the goal posts dont move enough!
