10,000 Bonus Points With New OnePath/ANZ Life Insurance

With only 2 days remaining, is anyone confident of getting their bonus points by end of August?

Well I got a "nice" surprise from onepath yesterday. 2 bills/notices to pay my September premium. Funny as I cancelled the policies 2 days after the august premium was deducted from my credit card. Fortunately, my credit card was cancelled because of a dodgy transaction. I guess that explains the bills now. Remembering the trouble other people have had getting them to cancel policies, I thought I would share my situation.

Looks like I will bother about the extra 10,000 points for the second policy that never showed up.

I have received 2/4 bonus amounts of 10,000 points. I called and cancelled all my policies today, hopefully the cancellation goes through and I don't have to end up fighting that. I ended up paying 4 months premiums, a total of 132.32, now to start chasing those other two lots of 10,000 points. Just drafting a letter up now.

I did receive a similar letter too, but interestingly it says "10,000 bonus points will be applied to the above policies". I hope it meant "will be applied to each of the above policies".

Looks like what I feared has come true. This afternoon I received only 10,000 bonus points. I shall remain calm for another day for the remaining 30,000 points.

All 4 policies posted today, woohoo! Best $60 for 40,000 QFF points I've spent in a while. Good luck to the rest of you all with outstanding balances.

Holy Snappin' A-Holes, Batman!

2nd 10,000 points posted to my account overnight. Talk about "minutes to midnight". 8 months, five phone calls, eight emails, and one complaint to Fair Trade NSW after I took the pox-ridden policy out.

Hardest 10,000 points I've ever earned, but the victory is sweet. $24 well spent!

Good luck everyone else.

To my surprise I always got my 40K points!!
In a very strange combination.

Yes I got something similar yesterday with odd amounts. I got what they promised when they called me to "resolve the complaint" - in other words still two policies short. And now there is an additional mistake. One policy was through my professional association (hence why I ended up having a total of 5) and that should have been 15,000 points but they only credited 10,000. So now I have lodged an additional complaint with onepath directly. I will add this to the complaint with the FOS if it comes to it (no further word from the, BTW, just the initial letter 10 days or so ago).

Canceled my 3 policies, took less than 30 seconds over the phone. Now to chase up the points!

I wish I was able to celebrate getting my 20 000 bonus points, but I think that is a while off yet.

I did receive a phone call from their complaints resolution department last week about why the regular 1pt/$1 only posted for one of my two policies. Apparently, QFF rejected the second policy because it was for the same dollar amount as the first one so it looks like a duplicate. They are working on trying to get a fix.

I'm not sure I necessarily believe this but then what can you do? I hope they don't trot out the same excuse when they try to post my 2 x 10000 bonus points.

It's the same excuse I got, but after 3 months of "duplicate issues", they will "manually credit the points" this month.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Glad I'm not actually relying on their policies for anything.

Wow I must have been one of the only ones to actually get all my points, no questions, no phone calls (4 policies).

It was so easy i'm contemplating trying again now i've canned the original ones. The one thing I did was pay 4 instalments. A small price to pay for 40k really (40k for $100 is nothing to sneeze at!) and the policies are tax deductible :)

I had this exact same line about the similar amount in my premiums stopping 'duplicate posting'. I have received 30,000 bonus points from 4 policies and my girlfriend 20,000 bonus points from 2 policies, so I am only chasing the one policy. Have written them a nice letter requesting they post the points or I will be going to the FO.

I paid 4 installments as well, I don't know how you managed to get it that cheap! My 4 months cost $132.32.

Take note that if you are going to try again they have changed the T&C so that they will only pay out a maximum of 20,000 bonus points regardless of the number of policies.

Ahh right thanks for the clarification! If I try again, i'll try two at a time (it's not the 40k/4 months I was hoping for, but one should never look a gift horse in the mouth etc).

I just got the policies that I was after, and didn't lie at all on any of them (that would be fraud, after all). Two of my policies, quite aptly, turned out to be $7.47 a month:) I got bare minimums for all policies, and it was around the $100 mark, give or take $10 from memory (was a few months ago so I don't recall exact figures).

I wonder if having two or more policies with the same premium cost is a factor in delays people are seeing, as reported in an earlier post, if the QF system rejects possible dupes then it will have a lot of fun with Optus.

Were all your policies the same amount travelislife? Or just 2 policies?

If it's going to be a problem I can just increase one of the covers so that one is $9 and the other $10. I don't really care, I have no intention of using these for insurance anyway. I'll just need to do some clever accounting and work out the minimum change necessary to achieve the desired increase.
