10,000 Woolworths rewards points for a travel insurance policy.

Now a veiled threat to suspend or cancel my Everyday Rewards account. Well I get zero worthwhile offers anyway so happy to be the Guinea pig here. Will continue pursuing through AFCA and see what happens. Suspect the threat won’t amount to anything but if it does I don’t really care. 😂

I'm cheering you on!

I've got 30k owing but haven't bothered to chase up yet with AFCA/Ombudsmen - just made the initial complaints and was hand-balled between ER and NIB - never receiving the promised follow ups from supervisors.

Has been a few months for this to progress but I received a call from the AFCA case manager today. I was informed that they had determined that NIB is the responsible party here despite them protesting that they aren’t. Apparently lots of information supplied by me but nothing at all from NIB. Case manager will now investigate and attempt to resolve. I was asked again what I would accept and I said missing points plus compensation for the time I’ve had to waste on this. Will see what NIB try to come back with next. 😂

Well done on going through with this.

I never lodged the complaint with AFCA as I didn't really want my EDR account cancelled, which they can do under their T&C's.

:(

While I get zero offers for bonus points from EDR these days, the points when buying gift cards would be a big loss. Such as tomorrow onwards 2500 QFF for a $507.95 eftpos card. I can only get 2 of these cards per account per day, so need my 4 accounts to max out points :D

I have just received an email from the AFCA case manager asked for copies of the PDS + everyday rewards terms + everyday insurance terms. So presumably they at least do not agree with NIB’s argument that they aren’t responsible.

I have the PDS that was provided to me when I took out the policies. Does anyone happen to have copies of the everyday rewards terms and everyday insurance terms that were effective at the time of the promotion? What I’m seeing says effective 14 October for everyday rewards and no date mentioned for everyday insurance.

If you don't have a copy, AFCA should be able to request these from NIB - I would suggest it would be unreasonable for a "reasonable person" to have to take screenshots/keep copies of this information (different to a PDS).

No, not the offer. I had that screenshotted and sent when raising the complaint. Email requested the following:

Email said:
1)Everyday Rewards T&Cs
2) Everyday Travel Insurance PDS
3) Everyday Insurance General Terms and Conditions.

I can provide all of those however the web links for 1 is the same as in your quote and is effective 14 October while the link I found for 3 doesn’t reference any effective date at all. Looking for versions effective at the time of the offer.

I have responded with links to the current terms which is all I can quickly find. Noted that I’m happy to find what was effective at the time if they can suggest where I would go to obtain that information. However going OS tomorrow so won’t be able to do that until late January.
