This is definitely a gift voucher?
Yes it was definitely a gift voucher.
This is definitely a gift voucher?
Just realised from the T&C that you can't use these vouchers for flights departing outside Australia, so no luck for those purchasing return tickets from o/s to save on ticket prices.
The credit card fee is the only real saving. Can they charge a credit card fee outside Australia?
No CC fee outside Australia - that's a purely Australian privilege (well, no fee from Asia anyway, not sure about US or Europe).
The other saving is that you'll find that an OZ-Asia-OZ ticket will always be more than an Asia-OZ-Asia ticket (applies to Europe-Oz-Europe as well). So if you're travelling the same route regularly, it's worth finding your one-way out there and then booking a return from from there. Even the change fee is less (as QANTAS must find it more troublesome to process changes in Oz than in Asia).
I didn't express myself well. There is not real need to use a voucher for bookings that start outside Australia to get the credit card fee saving of a voucher.
Would have liked the 10+K points though.
To each their own.For those who may not be spending $1000+ on flights and want to get the bonus points sooner rather than later.. YMMV
What do you mean about bonus points? Buy a voucher now and the bonus points will arrive at the same time whether $50 or $1000.
So despite numerous calls to the premium desk, and a PM to RedRoo on 2/12/14, I am still waiting on my residual vouchers.
This has moved from annoyance to what amounts to theft. They are in clear breach of their own T&Cs.
$2 is not below tolerance for a Gift Voucher, and you are entitled to it. Gift Vouchers have no minimum.oh this is a little annoying to find the $2 is below tolerance and a voucher won't be issued - specially when one gets an email saying it will (or a message when making a booking anyway). The only reason I really cared is that I saw it as a way to avoid the (hopefully soon going) outrageous CC fee by using that $2 residual voucher (I would have the $2 left over from a MEL-SYD r/t I'd booked in the recent J sale) as the start of a new booking and thus avoiding the CC fee for the rest. I'll live, but I do think QF should communicate this.. even if it's an eail saying "Your voucher reference xx_xx_ would work out to $2. We won't issue this as a new voucher, but here are some options to take up..." kind of thing. It's poor if it just goes into the "bit bucket" and there's a hope that people either won't notice, or care enough to worry. Since my flights are in Jan, I was waiting till after they'd passed before looking to see the expected residual voucher show up. I guess I shouldn't hold y breath....

Customer Care vouchers are only reissued if they are $2 or above.
There is a difference between the two. Qantas Vouchers|Terms and Conditions
Good advice.Given the hassle required to get the low value voucher issued I would recommend not waiting. The residual issued voucher has no bearing on the flights you will take. It might even make things more difficult after taking the flight as the details of the booking could drop out of the system.

Good result.Trying to use a gift voucher to book my son, who will be 11 at time of travel, and myself on the BNE-NRT flights. There is no way to redeem a child fare with a gift voucher online, it has to be done over the phone. i am currently on the phone with QF who are making the booking and waiving the fee.
