this looks good, but how do you extract value with this clause ? "Only one voucher can be redeemed per booking"

Dont buy more vouchers than you may need over the year and don't forget that even the smallest voucher takes away the card fees, value in itself.

This system needs an overhaul. Very hard to track remaining value and have it appear in your account.

I think I'll give it a miss this year.

Am I correct that the name on these vouchers can be different than the name of the ticket to be booked...? Has anyone tried the name change in previous years...?

I'm not that happy really with one voucher per booking, this seems very family unfriendly... :(

Has anyone tried the name change in previous years...?

Yes. I've done it a few times. And even changed back the name on any newly issued residual voucher. (the residual voucher gets issued with the new name)

To buy multiple vouchers, I see a 'number of pax' box, but not a number of vouchers box. I don't want to stuff up the order. What's the advice plse?

Buy multiple vouchers, separate times. Once you select more than 1 pax, that voucher (and any residual vouchers) will always be for that number of pax.

Thanks, how very manual of QF. So, some people will be filling this in x 60 times or so. :(

yes that's right - I tried it too can't use gift vouchers OR customer care vouchers for multi city or award bookings
I threw a curly one to telephone sales this morning.

Tried to book a JASA using newly purchased gift voucher (double status credits and 10 times points on the purchase)

The response was ohhhh! don't know how I can do that. After consulting with supervisor the answer came back that they couldn't find a way to pay for the fare with the voucher.

I paid with a credit card in the end. Seems as though the system can't cope with this combination.

Anyone else had experience with this?

buy 1 voucher for 2 pax, then repeat process again. but remember the number of pax cannot be changed when you go to fly!

Double dip, all those extra points and double SC's for dom.

And can I also assume that paying for the Vouchers with a CC that also earns Qantas Points will add a further points dipping (independent of the 10x offer) ?

Assume most people here have CC's that earns Qantas Points at rate of 1:1 / $AUD spend. I'm currently using an Amex that only earns 0.75 points / $AUD spent.

So would it work loading up the Qantas Cash Card with say AUD$2000 then using that to purchase $2K of Qantas vouchers. Thus earning 1-point/AUD$ via the current QCC promotion. And then earning a further 10-points/$AUD when paying for flights with those vouchers ?

I'm glad that this is back... though I will be waiting until 27 December to purchase my vouchers to maximise the voucher redemption period I have. I'm still using up some of last year's vouchers this month.

I have a NAB Platinum Amex, does anybody know if it earns bonus a 1 point per dollar (2.5 points per dollar) similar to buying flights with QANTAS? Which equates to 12.5 points per dollar, not bad.

You can buy 1 voucher for multiple people. That's how you deal with families. But remember that voucher will always have to be for the number of people.

Really buying in advance the best options is to buy only as many vouchers as you thing you can use.

Also worth remembering vouchers avoid card fees.

yes, that caused a bit of a trauma in our house. the voucher was for mr i am not amused and mrs funny. when i went to use it it generated 2 seats and we both had to fly same flghts

Generally, it is best to buy single passenger vouchers rather than multiple passengers on the same voucher to avoid having a voucher which you can't really use due to it being for 2 pax whereas you only want 1.

Worst case where you do have multiple pax on the same flights, simply have the bookings TCPed which has pretty much the same effect as being on the same booking.

It really depends. During this promo single vouchers are best. But if you have a specific trip, then it is better to have everyone on the same voucher.

1 x $500 voucher not going to go far on a family holiday with flights around three times that. Using more than 1 voucher then not everyone can be on the same booking which is also not ideal... IMO vouchers should be able to be combined for family members
