I'm glad that this is back... though I will be waiting until 27 December to purchase my vouchers to maximise the voucher redemption period I have. I'm still using up some of last year's vouchers this month.

Jeez Kev, did you buy 200 vouchers? ;)

1 x $500 voucher not going to go far on a family holiday with flights around three times that. Using more than 1 voucher then not everyone can be on the same booking which is also not ideal... IMO vouchers should be able to be combined for family members

The voucher amount is per person. A $500 for a family of four cost $2000.

Good to see this promotion back. I may just purchase $5,000 worth and see where that takes me.

IMO vouchers should be able to be combined for family members
One step further and I think 2 vouchers should be able to be used for a booking as per Virgin vouchers.

For those who have vouchers expiring THIS year, are you able to book for 11+ months out from now?

Just a reminder that if you rely on credit card travel insurance, the use of these vouchers invalidates some of them (reason: you are buying a voucher, not a ticket, and then using the voucher as a component of the eventual ticket purchase). So check your CC's TI purchase requirements! Some require the full cost of the ticket (not including any voucher) to be purchased on the CC.

Has anybody had any experience purchasing these with the WW EDR card? Does it earn 2pts/dollar? The T&Cs don't seem to specifically include or exclude gift voucher purchases.

And for those that pay for their Qantas Gift vouchers using a ANZ platinum AMEX card the points earn is very good indeed.

10 QFF points per $ 1 spent as per the promotion.

1.5 QFF points per $ 1 spent using a ANZ platinum AMEX card.

Plus an addition 1 QFF point per $ 1 spent using the ANZ platinum card whilst spending on the Qantas web site, as ANZ classifies Qantas as a bonus partner.

As many have pointed out the purchase of Qantas Gift attracts no Credit card fees either.

12.5 QFF points per dollar spent = Thank you very much! Happy days ! The QFF points balance should grow quite handsomely now, after a big year of burning points on JASA's.

No doubt someone will better the points earn with some other credit card out their!

Very valid point, particularly with International legs!

Domestically not so much an issue.

dont most CC insurance policies just require you to have spent a minimum of $500 on prepaid travel expenses on the card to activate it?

I was today going to pre-pay my PAYG & GST today to harvest some QFF to take advantage of the DSC offer by booking some xASA's this month, so now what to do, buy some vouchers or pre-pay the ATO...? Decisions, decisions...?

Ok, why put all eggs in the one basket... ;)

5 x $500 going to Vouchers = 25,000 QFF in ~8 weeks
$20k going towards October-December Quarter ATO = 20,000 QFF in ~2 weeks

Still thinking about how / what / value, voucher I should be buying for the family holiday trip...!

Not Citibank. And others. Just check first if you rely on them.

ANZ and HSBC come to mind as cards which require the whole ticket price on the card. Bankwest and NAB don't.

ah that explains why I thought that since I use bankwest and nab cards with insurance

It would seem I'm premature in using my voucher

QFF points for gift vouchers

Hi all,

Qantas is offering 10 points per dollars on flight vouchers (via the red email) Is this a cost effective way to boost my balance?

Thanks!

Thanks!

Its a cost effective way to book QF flights directly since it takes away the CC charges, points are a big bonus.
