Thanks for the updates markis10

I shall see those who are attending on Saturday. Is there an updated attendees list?

Regarding Sept 7-9, I will have to get back to you in the next week or so. I am on the cusp of booking a trip, of which this weekend would sit in the middle. Not sure which way the cards will fall as yet, but I will let you know as soon as I do.

Somehow I completely missed this thread.

I might pop along for lunch. Can I just decide and rock up on the day?

Have refunds been processed yet for those of us who requested them?

They are being processed this week and a PM receipt will be sent. The cheque clears tonight that came back from one of the suppliers!

I'm not sure I can be in for the Sept dates, I'm potentially looking at an Asian trip and a US trip around that time.

Just out of interest, you've mentioned that those who had seats for this first trip will have first dibs at the new set of events in Sept. At what point do you think it'll be open slather (in other words how soon do I need to say I'll be at the September event)?

Its first dibs for the bus tour of the airport and we have on 12 seats available, I doubt it will be open slather ;)

Given the feedback that August and Sept are bad for many, I have stuck a stick in the sand and decided to get it done sooner rather than later while still having time to make some of the pieces jell, so rev 3.0 is here http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/meetings-and-social-events/july-21-22-aviaton-weekend-39473.html

Arrghhhh, it does not rain until it pours, just got the following email from the Airways Museum:

I am sorry to say that we cannot find sufficient volunteers to open the Museum for your group on Saturday.

Saturday is our most difficult day of the week to accommodate visitors, as most of our members have other interests and commitments on that day.

This website has a language filter that stops me giving a word for word response by me after reading the email but I am sure you can guess it! I suppose its the way things go....

So it looks like we are going to have to move the visit and make it the RAAF museum at Point Cook then the Museum at Moorabbin and the alternate museum has already got back to me and cannot do it .

RAAF Museum: Visit Us

Australian National Aviation Museum - Moorabbin Air Museum

I have booked a car with 7 spare seats for those that might need transport, with a pickup at MEL and also Essendon, just let me know! I hope this is of interest to those still keeping the faith, on a bright note I now know there is a TAA museum for July ;)

In the immortal words of Homer Simpson - "Doh...."

I will update the first thread with the final plan for the day tonight, I might add anyone that wants to leave their car at Essendon is welcome to hitch a ride as well, after the lunch/lounge visits I am happy to drop them back.

I am thinking a big night out in Melbourne sounds like a plan for Friday night seeing as there is no rush to get up in the morning now.

Lol!! I'm determined to make an awesome day regardless! Really looking forward to meeting everyone!
