Please forgive me, what will we be doing on Saturday the 19th. I will still be there, I have no idea what I'm doing.but I'm still looking forward to it???

If I am there I can assist with the guesting.

Can take 5 into DJ Lounge plus 5 into CL.

I will only guest those I know or who can be vouched for.

If you are wanting to go into CL as my guest. No torn denim, and a collar will be mandatory.

I would absolutely love to see the MEL CL. I'm sure there would be a couple of members you've met who would vouch for me.

Looks like those very generous CL invites are all used up!
So, seems like I'll be in the DJ lounge and I have 2 guest spots available for the other plebs:shock:

Markis10...
If there were enough people interested would you still consider the DC3 tour on Saturday afternoon?

Looks like I missed out too, would be great to see the CL :( I'm happy to guest into VA

Hrrm... I was planning on driving to/from ADL airport. I wonder how much sobering up is possible on the flight back home ;)

If my P.A.'s Mum is there on the day, She will have priority!

Although if he is there.... We can guest 8.

Looks like the CL guesting might have to be done in shifts...every hour chuck out one lot and bring in the next :D:D

Just an update on next weekend, the plan is:

Airways Museum in the morning, we will be breaking into 2 groups for this.

Airways Museum / Civil Aviation Historical Society

I have booked a table at the Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport for lunch where the food will be 50% the menu price, drinks cash bar, anyone wanting to use their JB lunch credit let me know, not a problem.

Afternoon will be lounge based, with the DJ lounge being the centre point with CL access for the chosen few ;) at BRs discretion.

At this stage I am looking at the next event to be held the weekend of Sept 8 & 9, with the following plan:

Saturday
Double F lounge run
DC3 twilight flight (weather should be better then)

Sunday
On airport bus tour (limited numbers should this proceed and priority will be given to original ticket holders)
Lunch with JB747 (Gods/Employers permitting)
ATC & Rescue Fire Fighting/Airline Maintenance tour in PM

Monday (for those that want to take the day off and TBC)
Tour of a training facility run by one of the airlines.

I am out for Sept as that is Father's day weekend.

I like to register an early interest for this. The dates suit me (as opposed 19 May), esp. to get a seat on the Sunday airport bus tour ;)

Can we use the HI car park (free?) or need to park in the Airport car park ? (and then buy our cars back)

MEL Museum/JB747 Lunch/airport tour/DC3 flight Version 2.0 (Sept) better in new thread IMHO
Perhaps a friendly mod could split the thread ?

I will spin it off into a new thread soon, and you can use the HI car park, I will organise it!

Have you gotten in touch with the Virgin Australia Melbourne lounge team about this?

Hey I'm up for lunch, decided not to stay in Melb for a few days so I'll be catching the 5pm flight back to Perth :)
