I am very much enjoying the pink grapefruit at breakfast that has been pre segmented for easy consumption. Yummy and so much nicer than the yellow grapefruit that I dislike at home. And they don't need sugar.

I do find it a delicious irony that if I'm breakfasting at the main dining room that when I make polite conversation with others about how nice they are, that they cannot consume grapefruit as they are on cholesterol reduction medication. (I do understand that grapefruit is a no no while on these drugs)

Now, I would feel very sorry for those people but any sympathy flies out the window as I look at them chowing on their plate of bacon, eggs, fried potatoes, French toast and maple syrup. And that they couldn't possibly exercise at the gym because of their bad knees.

As a consequence I'm tending to avoid the grumpy ones and enjoy the solitude of my grapefruit, sometimes a poached egg or a protein drink (brought my own) and just enjoy this instead:

Such is life.

Early morning we have the deck walkers. Hundreds of them walking around Deck 7 which I think is a mile. The gym is also pretty full. Good to see people doing their exercise.

Deck 7 is beautifully maintained and washed down each night. And sadly I've just spilled half a cup of coffee. I'm sorry guys. :(

I was out on deck this morning before the deck chair cushions had been put out. I just comfortably sat on the end of the chair and was ocean watching. Next thing I am swarmed by about 20 crew members apologising and bringing out out the covers. It didn't bother me a bit but I guess some might expect instant service.

I am surprised how many CCTV camera there are, I suppose if someone where to be pushed r jump they want the footage.

Funny you should say that. Our deck 13 exercise class, near the funnel has multiple cameras. Three of us were counting and waving at each one in our gym gear.

But there are cameras that can access the external balconies everywhere. I'm thinking also the lifts.

On Friday Dame Older and I are lucky enough to be going on a Behind the Scenes tour. Only 16 people each sector are able to go. We are accompanied by security people and staff. We see the kitchens, engineering area, the hospitals etc etc and last port of call (sorry, couldn't resist :p) is the Bridge to meet the Captain and have photos taken on the Bridge. We receive a commemoration pin and certificate. The tour lasts around 3 hours. No photos allowed by us but the visit is filmed on the Trip DVD. Pretty cool hey?

Just entering Whitsunday passage and the GBR Pilot is on main speaker pointing everything out.

Ship tours are great. Enjoy :)

Do you think the line dancing and exercise classes will also be on the trip DVD? ;)

I bought the trip DVD from a Celebrity cruise through Panama Canal last year. I brought it home and showed people and was asked "was everyone on board really that fat?". Unfortunately the answer was mostly yes!

And I was at the end of my last cruise in August last year at my highest weight ever.So I made a promise to myself to get back to 90kg by the end of April.pleased to say that I reached that mark today 6 weeks early.
Now need to lose a little more by September when we embark on a 30 day cruise.

My plan today was to go to the gym and visit the Spa. But while I'll do the gym, the spa can wait. It is so stunningly beautiful watching Whitsunday passage as we pass by and I figure I'll live on the deck today.

Plenty of sea days ahead of nothing but sea to spa.

Just off Mackay. Any AFF'ers out there?

Snorkelling tour is tomorrow QF WP. We are moving slowly. :p
Whoops, a day ahead of myself after a re-read of your earlier post

A day of indulgence today. (ha, as if I haven't already been doing that)

Vlad and his crew are only offering paid sessions today which I refuse to do. They are being a bit sneaky and many of the workouts are now being charged whereas before they were free. The full world cruisers (well, there's only one that goes to the gym) is appropriately cranky because she's been going for free since January. There'll be Mutiny on Board for sure!
Will enough people stay away? A days rest is good for muscle regeneration. Mutiny aboard the QM2 - ha, love to see the oldies trying to get the Captain to walk the plank

So the Dames are off to the Spa. We did a quick tour and it looks heavenly, especially the pool which I've heard massages even better than a hands on massage due to this high pressure waterfall. We can stay all day from 8am until 8pm and come in and out. Several different types of saunas. Several different types of showers. Foot massage baths. A relaxation lounge looking out over promenade deck. We both purchased 5 day passes for $95US. A bargain.
That certainly sounds like the thing to do - bargain price! Just don't you two fall asleep and start snoring on the Masseurs' table (is his name Sven?). After a day of pampering, Verve it is whilst watching the setting sun.

Telstra is still with us, so good! I'm going to a lecture on how the west imagines the orient in music and drama. It will either be excellent or ....There is also a later lecture on the universe presented by a chap (sounds very spiffy to day 'chap') from the Royal Astrological Society so might go to that as well.
ill miss the vegetable carving. They do amazing things but I'm sure it will be an absolute bun fight, so will pass on it this time.
I went to the MDR For breakfast - agree with Pushka that the grapefruit are very yummy. They are the sweeter ruby variety. Must away, I need a picnic lunch to get to the other end of the he ship!

Didn't you bring your gloves and scrubbing brush

See, they do KWYA!!

Hey Older Dame. The new Q HK lounge is opening the day you are leaving. Sweet timing that.

Everyone is being a lizard lounge. Deck 7 is pumping. Just help beat up this husband who almost gave his wife's lounge to a younger lady. His wife was just off getting him a cup of coffee. Seriously dude..

Oh Lordy, a massage by Vlad...but we had Stacey for the abs bums class and she's clearly been studying the same techniques. At one stage she looked at me and said breathe! I realised I'd been holding my breathe just trying to do an abs repetition. Looked like beetroot when I looked in the mirror. Sometimes I forget to breathe I'm concentrating so hard. :(. But I'm pleased to say as I looked around I was moving the heaviest weight (in my hands) than everyone else except one guy and he was using the same weight as me. ;)

I'm skipping vegetable carving too. :p.

Might visit the Yorkeys Knob one though.

Good lord. Do you see what I'm doing here? We are on the same ship but she's so big we are communicating with each other via AFF.

Sorry, not dashing round to starboard to catch Hayman Isl. :p

What, are the muscles complaining too much after your Abs, Tum & Bum class with Vlad?

I can handle not seeing it, don't run around just for me...

One of the benefits of a near real time TR. Keep up the good work & the good times.

I'm having a slow day - maybe all that running around at work before I boarded is catching up (and the cabin is so hot at night I haven't had a good sleep yet). The lecture on the musicals was very entertaining but unfortunately my eyes kept wanting to close in the following one on the origin of the universe. I was still listening honest!
Lolling on a deck chair on deck 7 watching the sea - heaven. Most people look like they have gone for lunch as it is a lot quieter now. Certainly not quiet in the shops! I walked past and it was wall to wall 'bargain hunters'!

Have you hit the shops Pushka? I think I'll be doing the nana nap thing this afternoon. I must be getting old (no cracks about my age please!)
Nice looking beach on that rocky island we are just passing - oh it's a hard life.

I did hear someone snoring. :p. But it was the Cairns lecture. A tad dry.

But was witness to a nasty event. I was walking to the Cairns lecture and in front of me was a man in shorts and clearly prosthetic leg. I'd say late fifties. Walking towards him was an older couple, I'd say late sixties. The wife saw the man in front of me and veered away. The husband "held his ground" and hip and shouldered the man in front of me. They hit so loud there was a crunching sound. The man with the prosthetic leg was sent flying and landed heavily on the ground. I think I uttered the words "WTF" because the perpetrator kept on walking past the man lying on the floor. I ran up to the man on the floor and turned round and yelled out to the guy to stop. He completely ignored both of us and kept walking and his wife was fluttering around him useless.

The man on the ground (either American or Canadian, I can't tell the difference) managed to get up, but was clearly shocked (as was I) and very angry. I was disgusted. He seemed able to walk into the lecture where I left him then went downstairs to report the incident. I think the man may have some bruises and might need to get some attention later.

This guy does not belong on a ship. His behaviour was either sociopathic or he was on drugs. How could anyone knock someone to the ground, let alone someone with an obvious disability, know they were witnessed doing so, and keep on walking past them on the floor not saying a word. I hope there is an aftermath. I have this guy etched in my brain. If he did the same to an older lady there would be broken bones. Just a really nasty thing to happen. I'm still shocked at man's inhumanity sometimes. :(
